Scholars journal

Post by Youchimitchu »

(some things will be fabricated to fill in parts of the journal, also this will be an open rp as if your character had read this and gave an opinion its a journal / book my character wrote)

Entry 1 : expedition into the western woods, the task to record all flora and fauna as well as geography and bestiary of the western woods.

-After entering in the western woods I immediately began recording my findings on paper the first thing to note was the fir trees they highly and densely populate the whole of the woods especially on the side east of the river of what I believe is part of trolls vein even though it is not connected to it. Another tree that cought my eye was the Naldor tree a light barked and light green leaf coloring stands out amongst the dark green fir trees.

-While looking around I saw that the common red flower was here as well,
along with forest ferns which had a dark green color . the area also has Bushes that resemble at first glance grape vines however its clear the berries I picked are not grapes but a light pinkish berry of no actual name
as I approached the river I noticed great Scandel pines as well as hedge bushes and reeds.

-As I traveled down the river side I came to a small mountain the caves going in brought me to a beautiful cavern and a pleasant waterway with stalagmites and stalactites I found a ladder and went up there was a campsite with a fire someone is close by shouldn't make waves. In the mountain and caves I found gravel stones and common Grey rock , common brown stone , scrub grass , and firs

-Heading west I came upon mushroom circles , legends and myth call these toadstool rings where pixis and sprites live and play horrible acts against other races however I have no proof of this. I also have noticed a rather large amount of common grey stones. old logs and fallen trees. after some walking I found a huge collection of wonderful Mighty eldan oaks beautiful trees full of birds chirping away. while hearing a noise around a tree I quietly creped up ad peered around to catch the common brown rabbit.

-Heading west again I cought a glimpse of something blue to the south,
after finding it I found it to be a blue and white blooming ceridern tree
what a site to see especially as it is the only ceridern in site of this place.
I found an apple tree god thing I was gettin hungry , I can also see cherry trees. heading back west...Again I came upon a rather odd tree known as a Cackdern tree its brown bark and wide tent type canopy gave shade to the forest ground good thing its beginning to rain.

-OOHH while I was sitting under the dry shade of the cackdern I saw a herd of magnificent stags go by with beautiful tan brown fur and wide antlers truly a prize for any hunter. The rain has picked up I cant stay here what luck a house.

-Found a strawberry so it must mean this place can grow them but odd its the only one I saw. we have been going west for awhile now and im surprised to say I found a lot of ceridern trees I still dont get how that lone ceridern got so far away from these guys . must be animals carried the seeds . after a quick look over I believe thats the end of my expedition to the western woods.

PLACES OF INTEREST: Farmers Union is to the south east of the woods,
The Harbour is directly south
ther's a nice hobbit family living in the woods though I won't say where
to the North West is the Monastery of Eldan
and east of that is Druid House
(pleas comment on this I may want to make another)

Expedition Southern Woods

Post by Youchimitchu »

Entry 2: Expedition into the Southern Woods , mission record all flora and fauna as well as geography and bestiary of the southern woods .

-While at the edge of the Southern Woods a darkchill ran down my spine it seems darker hear then it should be however , I perked right up when I saw my first recorded object . on the outside of the woods I found a fascinating specimen of a sun herb , a greenish body and yellow top, as well I found a Four leafed oneberry which has a green body four leaves and a blue top. After my recording of the plants I found I began my entrance to the woods. not long in I came across a Birth mushroom ,which is a bluish tall and thin mushroom , and surprisingly in arms reach of that a champignon mushroom which is short and light tan white. after wandering a bit more I located Herders mushrooms not far from the edge of the woods.

-It should be noted that the trees are almost exact to the western woods which is no surprise as speaking in geography and climate were not that far away , although I am very cold here. first of note is the cackdern and naldor trees as they reach very high into the sky , although the fir tree is as well very abundant to an aggressive amount . Ive noticed the lack of ceridern trees , apple , and cherry they can be found but more so on the very outside of the woods. Southwest of the skeleton woods you will find small palm trees the skeleton woods are part of the southern woods.

-As I was looking about the floor finding a few mushroom circles , common red flowers , I identified a hearth flower which is pinkish and looks as though it drapes to the ground . a more common sight is a plant known as Black thistle which as it states is a black thistle plant. I found a donf Blade leaf...yet no plants of any kind nearby . continuing my search I came across a red head mushroom with a redish yellow head and white body ,I also found a sibanac leaf ..as well I don't see any plants...

-HAH!! My first animal sighting it appears to be the common brown rabbit
these guys can be found all over I would have been surprised not to see one . Not long after finding rabbits I was unfortunate enough to be set upon by a pack of wolves however I was able to escape them I guess
we could definitely say there are wolves here the wolves apear from small to rather large and are fast enough to keep up with you making escape almost impossible . as luck would have it I ran into some Stags Big ones to tan fur and all near by the herd of stags I located but remained undetected more wolves.

-unlike the western woods the southern woods are not ,NOT!!!, safe.
I came across a badly scraped battle-axe in the woods with fresh blood nearby I yelled out yet no answer I can only assume the worst for the poor soul. while keeping an eye open for the person who's axe I found I realized I Had been surrounded by skeletons! One , which looked almost redish, even threw a fireball at me!! narrowly dodging the fireball as well as a hammer at the same time I ran across the woods to an open spot to find a faster rout , right before arriving to my horror I saw more skeletons coming from ahead thinking fast I rushed southward to the sea as it was insight now . after gaining ground from the slow moving skeletons I managed to shake their pursuit .

-It would seem that the southern woods are infested with the un-dead namely being skeletons and skeleton mages , and no lone adventurer should go by themselves . only groups should go and even then extreme caution should be taken. I heard rumors of hidden places but found no places of interest in the woods the closest is a cemetery thats closer to troll woods then anything. Again the southern woods just are not for new adventures and should never be taken lightly. unfortunately I deem my expedition to the southern woods incomplete as with the hostiles I was unable to search the woods fully.
