Oscar Malei began his life in a small village on a small island. The small viallage of Nomara where half of the villagers worked as miners as the island was rich with coal and precious metals. All was well and quiet with the village for years eventually the wildlife became unusually aggressive, Nomarans increased the number of gaurds to successfully deal with the issue however eventually the villaged met with a new threat... the undead.
One night a mysterious stranger seemed to walk out of nowhere to aid the people of Nomara. This man, Jonas Barker, would becom Oscar's mentor and hero of Nomara. Some however, were still weary of Jonas as he promised not only would the small village have the undead to deal with but they would also come under seige of malevolent beings with unholy power known as demons and a stronger form of undead known as vampires.
Oscar studied under Jonas for years learning of ways to combat the undead and demons. One night Jonas went to confront a weakened necromancer that lived on the other side of the island, just moments after he stepped out of the village, Jonas' word that the village would come under seige by powerful beings came true. Oscar fled to a boat and barely escaped with his life. As he looked back from his departing boat, hearing screams of his loved ones he knew what the rest of his life would be devoted to.

Oscar steps from the boat walking gingerly from his injuries. He lifts a ragged back upon his shoulder and walks to the nearest open seat and sits down pulling one of his books from his bag. Oscar looks up before reading and sees a stranger draw near
Oscar: Excuse me stranger, where am I?
