The Wanderings of a Wolf

Post by Sundo Raca »

'Move.' This was the first word Wolf uttered in Trollsbane, directed at a young man blocking his path into the town. The man's eyes narrowed at this, but he moved all the same, his eyes examining the 'elf' before him. Wolf grunted, walking off, ignoring the man's probing eyes. He was used to such things.

People seemed fascinated by wolf's appearance. The elf was Seven foot 3, and hugely muscled. This, was coupled by his face, which was covered in various patches of blackened skin, where it had been burnt. His face was covered in these burns, and he looked like some kind of grotesque troll rather than an elf. His hair was pitch black, wiry and untamed, falling over his face and neck, while his eyes... his eyes were red, and seemed to scream pain at anyone who looked into them.

Wolf walked on, slowly moving through the marketplace. Men began to jeer at him as he walked past, insults flying at him. Freak, Ugly, Monster, it was much the same as he had experienced in all the human towns he had been in. He snarled at a lizard, but left it at that, ignoring them again. He had business here.

There was an elfess, talking to a human male outside a smith, and wolf approached them, deciding to begin his search with someone of his own species.

'You there.' He pointed his sword at her. 'I would have words with you.' His voice was harsh and rasping, the man raised his eyebrows at him, yet the elfess smiled, although he could tell she was taken aback.
'Go on.' Was all she answered, the man standing behind her. Wolf grunted, and moved a little closer.
'Im looking for a man named Dain. Dain Laiden. What can you tell me off him little one?'
She raised an eyebrow at that.
'Oh? And what is your business with him?'
'My business with him is my own.' She grinned.
'Well then, i have no business with you.'

Wolf scowled at this, and took out his sword from his waste, running a finger along the blade, drawing a drop of blood.
'Do not try my patience, she-elf!' He snarled at her, his eyes flashing. The man attempted to move forward, but she held him back.
'A rude way to refer to your own species.'
'I hold our own species in the same scorn i hold his,' he jerked his head at the man. She smiled genuinely then, and walked forward, so they were facing each other, or rather she was facing his chest. Wolf raised an eyebrow.
'You have guts. But i do not have time to waste on them. Simply answer my question. What do you know of the man named Dain Laiden.' He grinned at her, revealing sharpened teeth, awaiting his answer.
