(GM) Crash Report

Post by Krumple »

After roughly three hours of gaming my client crashed and I lost everything I had done for that entire time. When I got back into the game I was at the point where I logged out the night before.

I am frustrated because I spent time role playing and since I am new I don't have a whole lot of stuff that I can do. I have to do lots of walking around to collect stuff for money and items. But all that is gone now, and I have to do it all over again and am not looking forward to it.

If I would have died to say another player or monster and lost all my money and equipment, that is something I can role play and justify logically. But when the client crashes and I lose everything I did, is simply frustrating to no end.

Can anything be done to help me out?

Thank you in advance.

That was a server crash due as script bug.

Happens sometimes, but there is no way to change this but trying to avoid it. But it happens. Everyone online at this time, looses everything gained in that time.

Rule of thumb:
Relogg every 1 silver worth gained.

if you spent time roleplaying, you got fun out of it. no servercrash can take that away.
servercrashes hurt powergamers more, than roleplayers. but we got no powerplayers in illarion, so it hurts nobody.

A silver is nothing. If you lose a silver, come and whinge to me ingame. :P

Relog after every big trade you do, treasure map, quest, rune lesson, magical/expensive item obtained, large trip to somewhere (assuming you got skills or items on it) and you're pretty much fine.
