A forum request: Avatars

Currently the rules for an avatar are:

"Width can be no greater than 80 pixels, the height no greater than 80 pixels, and the file size no more than 8 KB."

Now, most of us like expressing their avatars, so could it be increased by a small amount? Even just 100 pixels by 100 pixels?

A change that small would hardly effect anything in terms of server load, or download speed, and it won't shift the posts to the right much either.

So people who want (slightly) bigger avatar sizes can be happy?

Please?

Last time I checked Llamas are not even related to Illarion, I don't see why we need bigger avatars of them.

My proposal is not "Make my avatar bigger" but rather "Make everyone's avatar bigger". I fail to see what characters wearing christmas hats have to do with illarion either

Reasons:
Load time of the topic pages
Server traffic
The poor dial-up users

I developed the character web-profiles to offer you the possibility to put in bigger images of your characters. I guess thats enougth.

it's take like 4 seconds to load a page with 80 by 80.

Took me 0.645 seconds to load the page to this topic. 1.460 seconds to load my post I am writing. I donno why I wrote that if I consider that it would be soooo annoying to load 100x100 pixels on dial-up in a larger forum. Think of our less fortunate internet users

. And as Nitram said, the server traffic would be a bit worse. I BELIEVE the game and page are on the same server, so any little bit might help the game run a bit smoother with the 60 players we have on during a large quest. Maybe only 59 with 100x100? -,- SO YEAH!

You can always just link to your profile page in the forum.
