Question Regarding cows

Post by Llama »

I heard a rumour on the boards, so I'm going to ask a question.

If I leave a cow at a place, and I leave it alone, will it 'disappear' or otherwise be removed by the server, even if nobody steals it or anything?

Btw the search function is as well YOUR friend.
There's already a thread existing: Disappearing cows.

So it is now impossible to go mining on your own with a cow except if you get a cow handler?

*sigh* thank you for the fast answer

with one of my chars i tried it out till 4 minutes sharp.
(i did not try more, for fear of lag)

you can go mining alone. (if nobody steals your cow, while you are inside.)
it needs about three turns, to smash a stone.

That's it. It always was.
Cows walk neither up nor down.

And the reason for this is, that the cows are meant to transport goods from one town to another town.

Everything else, like taking them to work, is tolerated abuse.

its "tolerated" abuse, means its abusing the system but still "allowed".

So you suggest that we walk to the north mine (10 minutes), dig out around 55 coal (heaviest my character can take), walk back to trollsbane (another 10 minutes), and repeat the same for a less amount of ore, and yet still get enough ingots to smith?

Thats how it works in every other mine. But like said.. It is a "tolerated" abuse. A benefit of the system, which was not planned.

A professionel miner, who sells his ores to smiths can become rich very easy i believe.
