A Treasure Hunt - closed RP

Post by Juniper Onyx »

((Closed RP to all except Deuce and myself. Thanks))

On cool rainy day in TrollsBane, an elderly Dwarf is sitting at Eliza's as Deuce walks in talking to some friends. The Dwarf immediately looks up as he recognizes him, and walks over to the great warrior.

"Sir, I desire some of your time." says the Dwarf.

"I am a dwarf of little means, however I was sold a treasure map to some buried treasure deep within the Copper Mountains." the dwarf explains.

"I have heard from others that you are a man to be trusted to help and protect me on my quest to get the said treasure." the dwarf says.

"If you will assist me, I can offer you half of the treasure, as well as 5 silvers for your trouble. Will you help me?" asks the dwarf.

Deuce takes a brief moment to ponder upon the situation, running a hand through his dark, ragged beard.

"Treasure you say?...hm, and you need MY help?"

Narrowing his eyes then, a light smug-like smile approaches the lips of the man.

"Sounds intriguing, tell me...Was I your first choice?"

Deuce chuckles in a rusty tone, kneeling before the dwarf to eye-level.

"Nevertheless, I am glad. You have come to the right man... When there's treasure involved, you can rely on me."

Turning to the depot then, Deuce begins taking various weaponary from it, examining each blade as he straps them to several sheaths around his person.

Excited and relieved, the dwarf appears gleeful.

"Yes, indeed you were said to be the best in the land sir!"

"If you will accompany me, and protect me, your share shall be greater than mine. Thank you sir!"

The Dwarf carries only a rolled up parchment, some old clothes and some bread. He leads you out of Eliza's and toward the West Gate.

He looks at his map and points west.

"There we must go sir, there." pointing toward the Copper Mountains.

Going through the west Gate, he follows the road west toward the Copper Pass. He talks of small chit-chat such as stones and ores and such, and appears quite pleased that you are coming with him.

After a few hours, he stops near a break in the mountains. He slowly peers at his parchment, ever careful for others not to see. He ponders a moment, then points up the mountain pass before you.

"There. The spot is within that pass, Here is where I need your skills sir. Now if you will be kind enough to lead the way up the pass sir, I shall follow and direct us to the marked spot."

The dwarf gestures to an erie looking mountain pass, not seldom traveled.
