Disappearing cow

Can cows just disappear? I take my cow to the mines and after only a few minets of being down there I come back and my cow is gone. This has happend twice now and I'm wondering if it is a coincidence that both my cows have been stolen or if they are disappearing after being left alone for to long.

They are getting stolen.

Bandits have stolen them. (they disappear after awhile if not in sight, you can usually get your depot items back by renting another one)

Indeed. In case you have left your cow alone you have around 5 Minutes until is disappears.

I would say they ran away.
If you are on the same level as your cow, it will start mooing as a signal that you are too far away. But down in a mine you can't hear that.

Is it true that your depot items are still there if you rent then another one? How long is that possible?

Ever since the cows we're introduced; if you lose your cow, renting another will have the same items as the other.

HOWEVER

i beleive this is fixed now. Not sure.

If this was 'fixed' it'll lead to an amazing lot of griefing...

It was not fixed. Thats still a pending bug. When you buy a new cow your old items should be gone.

You should make that lost cows containing items to wonder arround and be looted by anyone -> robber RP
