Is it normal to be burned to death in town?

Its my first full day. After my morning drink at the tavern I head over to the library to start educating myself. I pick up a book and bam. I'm on fire and there is no visible source. Moments later dead. I would love to be part of the community but i don't even know how to get alive again. If this concerns anyone in a high place as much as it does me, please get back to me.

PS I grabbed a screenshot after trying in vain to F12 this person into tangibility. No such luck :\[/img]

I guess, that I saw you in the library....

The same happend to me, my char were killed by that thing.

And it made me really sick, becuase it was very powerfull and fast, so the chance to get away was nearly zero.

And no, it's not normal....

Hm, I am sorry in behalf of the community that your first day was filled with burning in fire. I assure you, it is a strange occurance. As for the source of the fire, I must ask, did you see any message of a person speaking that had a series of asterisks?

Again, I'm sorry about what happened. To revive, you need to get to the cross, which is on the north east corner of town.

No. it was a NPC I guess.

It used teleportation. ( don't know how its called in english...maybe the same )

If you log in again you're directly at the yellow cross (the colored pillar) that will revive you.

yes if you were attacked by flames and saw nothing that is an elementar and for a new character it might not be as weak. If you didnt see:

((#me)) Starts with a magical forumal.

They you were killed by either an Elementar or someone started a fire in the library and it spread to your tile, not likely. And elementars have been known to teleport just about anywhere. Once in the graveyard, once outside silverbrand, and now seemingly in the library. If attacked by one they send flames at you but they aslo leave a trace of flames behind them and all the ones I have seen come right up to you so even if they are invisible you could just shift+click one of the tiles around and eventually you would start attacking it. As for running never had too so I have no idea how fast they are. Good luck n00bs in the library.
