The Ancient Book - In a vast desert, miles away from civiliza

Post by Dagger »

In a vast desert, miles away from civilization.Dagger and his only son,Shining Blade were resting on a rock from they're long journey.  As Dagger scanned the horizen,he noticed that his son was quite pale in the face.  "Are you ok,son?"
"Yeh dad, just a little tired,I was thinking we could rest here for the night?"
"Sure,I'm getting a little tired my self,yes....resting here sounds like a good idea."
As they rested under the stars, something was carfuly sneaking up behind them.
"Are you the one they call,Dagger?" Said the strange thing.
Dagger sat up,picked up his Flame Sword and held it close to the creatures throat, and asked,"Who wants to know....?"
"I am the Gargoyle known as Brogi"  The creature said  "I have been sent to capture you and return you to Green-Haven"
Now,un benown to the Gargoyle,Shining Blade was getting ready for a back-attack.  As he grabbed his Short Sword and tired to bury it in the Gargoyle's back,Brogi turned.  Dagger was about to see the most horible site in his life.  Brogi grabbed the tip of Shining Blade's Short Sword,an turned it tword the young warrior.  As the young warrior tried to exscape, the Gargoyle buried the sword into his stomache.  "No!" Dagger cried and with one swipe of his Flame Sword, the Gargoyle crumbled.
"Son! Are you ok?"
"Just...just a little....flesh wond...."
And Shining Blade blacked out.  Now it's a race against time.  Dagger looked at his map.
"Looks like the nearest village is Trollsbane."
As they took they're long 7 day journey across the desert,Dagger could feel his son slipping, and less than a hour away from Trollsbane,Shining Blade passed on.  Now Dagger was left to make the journey alone, and when he reached Trollsbane,he went into the forest and buried his son. "Rest well,my son"  Were his last words to Shining Blade.   And the one thing he got from his long, painful journey from Green-Haven,to Trollsbane, was a ancient book from the crumbled remains of the Gargoyle, and a lost son.
