As most have noticed, the town meeting this week did not take place due to the unfortunate events of this day. So instead, I will post announcements here, along with my thoughts on many things. If you wish to discuss, you can find me in person or write on this parchment.
Safety of Trollsbane
Despite appearances, Trollsbane is now safer than it has been in a long time. The threat of the temple has slowly gone away, and now Negros has been defeated. The hardest part of building the guard back up is the beginning stages, as we have seen over the past few months. Some individuals have stepped forward, individuals who are proud of their town, and would risk their lives in order to protect it, and its people. Farel and Gerron have returned to their spots as higher ups in this guard. Today, Atrineas and Edward have been promoted due to their distinguished effort during the undead attacks. Lee Vance and Maoqi are recruits. That makes seven including myself, and hopefully that will be growing. This is the most success we have had with the guards in quite a while.

Damages of Today
I have gone around and surveyed the damages of todays attacks. Siege weapons took out nine feet of double wall from the town wall itself. Furthermore, the tunnels that were dug have damaged some of the roads, especially the one that circles around the library, and partially near the shop. Part of the southern gate has been broken as well from a previous attack.
Property, and its flaws
Taxation has proven ineffective. There is little to be done in this area to gather a decent revenue base for the town, and therefore, it will no longer be in effect after this week. Secondly, very few have shown interest in building homes or other structures within the town, so there is no revenue here either. I have began construction of my own home near the inn, but no one else seems interested. Property laws and tax revenue were suppose to be positive things, to reinvigorate Trollsbane, and the funds gained from it would be reinvested into the town to expand and improve current structures, and perhaps build new ones. But unfortunately this has been unsuccessful, and I accept fault for that.
Property News:
-Contract reached to make the Hospital owned by the Druids of the Forest. Then a second agreement to make it untaxable while it remains a place of healing. It is good to see all were able to work together to reach an acceptable solution.
Diplomacy
I believe our relations with other towns on the island remains very good, and some have improved. I would like to speak of Silverbrand in particular. They have been very active of late, and have helped Trollsbane numerous times, including defense of the town today, where they showed up in large number, and made hard sacrafices for the defense of the town. Thurbert and the other dwarves deserve highest recognition, and hopefully we can repay them someday.
Overall State
We are in a very odd time in Trollsbane. This is a time of transition and rebuilding. At first it was rebuilding of a theoretical since, getting the guards and laws in order, and now we add a real rebuilding stage to that, with the damages that have occured during the attack. This rebuilding sets the town back even farther in terms of its treasury and ability to expand and move forward. There are those on the island, both evil and otherwise, who wish to see Trollsbane as weak as possible. I refuse to let this happen. Very few people care about the town anymore as well, which is also unfortunate. But hope remains that we can improve the place we live in, and that is my single goal. If you think I plan on holding authority to bother you all forever, you are wrong. Somewhere down the line, the people will decide again, but right now I will hold until I am satisfied with how Trollsbane is doing. There is a lot of work to do, and I hope we can all move in a good direction together.
