My personal opinion is that.. the prices are.. kind of cheap..
I mean.. in the matter of two weeks, Johnny Lant managed to gather up about 100 silvers worth just by tailoring and selling..
Not sure..
Just my opinion though..

Perhaps by extreme powrgaming and selling shoes to greenbriar halfling?

Powergamer.
Not everyone has all day to play, some have work and school.

As long player are active its equal. If it helps to give them the possibility back to found own homes, the prices are not so important.
But in general, of course. If changes are needed we change the rules and pricelist.

1) Fields as in a tile?
2) I think its a bit unbalanced. A bed costs more then a grindstone, and one is just there for RP, the other can actually be used .. still
Thank you ^^

But beds are... beds!
Decoration (5 silvercoins)
* Wall decoration
o 15 boards of apple trees, 1 axe, 1 shield, 5 nails
* Mirrow
o 10 logs of cherry trees, 15 nails, 50 sand
I want Mirrows!

No, not by powergaming..
Rather by buying leathers and entrails off a very, very cheap price (Ask Ella, she knows Wink) and by selling.. for instance.. leather legs for 2 silvers to "inexperienced", "easily convincable" characters.
Actually my tailoring was barely green.. I would go gather leathers once every two days, gather about .. 40-50.. and buy 150-200 from Ella.. for.. hmm.. three or four serinjah-swords Wink
So yeah.. If you're a good trader, have nice convincing skills or simply a scammer (*cough* arxxxh *cough*).. well you can easily come up with some coins.

Ok, I don't even get what it says on fields and what-not.
Care to clear it up a bit?

One field is one tile I guess.

That would make it... REALLY expensive...
Street
* 20 brickstones and 10 sand per fields
* 1 hammer and 1 shovel per 10 fields
.: a 5 X 5 area will take:
3 hammers, 3 shovels, 500 brickstones and 250 sand. and thats just the floor, the walls are worse
TOo expensive IMHO

*chuckles*
If i call it 'tile' anyone would start to say 'tile' is no name for something inside of a roleplaygame like Illarion. If i call it 'field' no, some people do not know what is meant.
But yes, i mean a single tile to where you can move your char or make a campfire.
Brickstones will be cheaper in some future by the possibility to make them youself.

Well, don't have a floor.
Mud floors are fun!

Oopsy, forgot that... 50 silver for ground...
hmm, i'll work out the total for a square 5X5 with a door in it... when i have tyme

pig buisness : how many pigs do we need for a spawn point?

Its also unbalanced.
10 squares of any tile, cost you as much as a pig...
10 squares for putting that tile, PLUS the stuff you're goign to make the tile from...
It needs to be made cheaper and more balanced IMHO...

OK, have a lot to do and decided to work this out to procrastonate a tad.
Lets say a person wants to build a house 5X5 squares, within the boundaries of town, and put a wall around it, with one door... let us sum up his costs
The floor:
50 Silver Coins
Lets assume he uses parquet: 125 naldor logs
75 apple tree boards
250 nails
3 saws 3 hammers
-
The roof:
50 silver coins
Let him use the tiled roof
360 naldor logs
720 boards of conifer
360 nails
4 hammers 4 saws
-
The wall:
48 Silver coins
24 hammers
960 Brickstones
240 sand
24 buckets of water
=
A door
2 silver coins 1 hammer
20 naldor logs
10 nails
1 saw
=
Adding them up...
Silver Coins: 150
Naldor logs: 505
Nails: 620
Apple Tree Boards: 75
Conifer Boards: 720
Saws: 8
Hammers: 8
Buckers: 24
Brickstones: 960
There, I dont think I left anything out...
THAT is the cost of a 5X5 room with a wall around it and a door....
EXPENSIVE

you need money but it isnt excessive.

The above was for a 5X5 room... with NOTHING in it...
Elizas shop would cost a few thousand for example....

i think when you pay the silver that is all you need to do, or you collect the items.

I agree with this entirely.

Let me just disprove you guys...
Tools (15 silvercoins)
* Millstone
o 100 brickstones, 20 sand, 2 long wooden stacks, 1 hammer
* Smoking oven
o 100 brickstones, 20 sand, 1 hammer
The long wooden stack is redundant then?
They aren't the same price....
