To the whiners of Trollsbane.

Post by Ereaes »

Revlen walks up to the wall, a message already written in hand, he removes an ornate dagger from his belt and stabs the partchement into the wall. It reads...

To the whiners of Trollsbane,

I have walked about the streets of our town, and apon my walks i hear many complaints about the guard not doing thier duty or not being there at the right place at the right time, i will tell you something. We are guards, not gods, we cannot be everywhere at everytime. Those of you who think the guard is not doing thier duties, tell that to my recruits and myself who have been wounded multiple times as well as drivin off threats to the town, we have shed our blood defending you and doing our best with what we have to keep you safe, and as in the years when i was simply a guard you repay us by critising and degrating us. Well here is what i have to say, if you find the guard lacking then have the courage to join yourself and face what we do everyday. Appreciate that your lives may have been saved multipule times at the cost of guard blood.

I see little shades of grey in this town, there is those seeking to defend the town and those who seek to let chaos run free. By degrating your own guard as well as standing by and doing nothing, in my opinion you are the ones that wish the chaos, if not prove me wrong.

There are certain occasions when i hear a "thank you" to either my recruits or myself, but those occasion are few and far in between. There are those who appreciate the guard and what we do. For those of you who do not, do something about your constant whining and help your guard, other wise keep your flapping lips shut.

Revlen,
captain of the town guard

Im not a citizen, but i think that magic being used offensively should be determined with a case by case judgement. What she did I suppose would be considered offensive, but if someone makes a portal for someone to go to a different town, it certainly isn't.

It all depends on what's going on, and a law that tries to cover any possible offensive use is silly. Next you won't allow people to carry weapons, or wear armor. Then, they'll be forced to cut off their hands, as they could punch people with those, possibly their feet too. Then, food castign would be illegal as that food could be used as a projectile to throw at someone, or you could shove it into someone's mouth and have them choke. Then, mages wont even be allowed to exist, as they might use healing to heal enemies of the town.

Seriously, judge it case by case.

Revlen,

You must know where this criticism comes from. Perhaps fighting under your name the guard means something; perhaps not. I'm not really in a position to know anymore. But under Bailey's eye, and under Pendar's, the guard was a joke. The only threats to the town that would have been dealt with by anyone other than yourself were stray, lost, and lonely women if you catch my drift.

Maybe you always did your job, but the guard kind of established a bad name for itself. It takes awhie to disprove it now.

Turonga you are not a citizen, you are a nucesnce that i have tolerated over the years even when i had just joined the guard. Your opinion in this matter is no concern of mine. I have done my best as guard and as captain of the guard to defend the town, the manner in which i defend the town has been questioned a few times, but in the end the job is done. Those who have complained about how i handle things has always turned out to be something to this effect "No you should not hurt the criminal, dont put him in jail. He can change every one deserves fifteen chances" and so on and so forth. Those who commit crimes and show no mercy to thier victums shall recieve none from me, if your soft hearts cannot handle the fact that an iron fist is needed to deter and stop crimes, then that is your own problem. I will defend the town untill my last breath escapes my lips, and if any of you care for your own bloody town, you would do the same.

captain of the town guard
