Cursor

Post by Arameh »

Well, my cursor is kinda slow, and somehow laggy. My scrolling speed is at 10, and all the rest of the game isnt laggy. Is there an option to fix that? For now its not THAT annoying, but when i start smelting ingots its gonna be hell.

This is a problem that many have experienced. It goes hand-in-hand with the slow processing of typing.
As Nop says in the technical thread, nothing can be done. You just have to slow some of your own clicks and make sure you actually have an item before moving.
(Took me a while to get used to it, and I still sometimes can't pick up an item the first time because I move too quickly.)

To feel the effects of the typing speed, you have to be a fairly rapid typer ;)

...and I don't think it's going to be fixed. That was the impression I was left under in the last thread. But, I could be wrong.

Its not a bug or a problem, technically anyway. Up your frame rate to increase the speed of your typing and cursor, scrolling speed has nothing to do with it. Scrolling speed is how fast the text moves in the chat box. At max its nearly instant, at lowest it just creeps up.

My framerate is 30 now, which is the max, its a bit easier to click, but the cursor is still awfully slow.

Put it at 0 and it is instant I believe. That is what my setting is.

The slower cursor movement is a basic problem in the graphics library used by the client. It cannot be influenced by any options and it cannot be fixed in any way. Even commercial games using the same base have it.

The good news is: After a while you get used to it, I don't even notice it anymore. :-)
