((Continued from the message on the down time board))
Ules looks up, splintering the plate as he moves in his normally clumsy manner.
"Who's there"
An old looking man, in a dark cloak approaches. Ules can't make much else out about him in this light, so he took out a pair of lenses he had crafted from a bottle long ago. ((yes there were primitive glasses in medieval times, they were just rare and usually expensive)). He didn't much liek them, as they scratched his skin and didn't work very well at all, but with their help after adjusting his focus, he was able to make out some of the man's features. The man has a scruffy look, with short facial hair randomly specked about on his face. There were strands of fairly long, dark-colored hair hanging down, and it was too dark to see the man's eyes clearly, though they seemed to be a dark color too.
"Can i help you?" Ules questioned politely.
"Ules, right?" said the man, in a deep, raspy voice
"Yes, what do you need?" Ules replied in a cautious, slightly nervous tone.
"Your parents. They aren't dead."
Ules' voice changed to a bit of an angry tone as he spoke:
"What are you talking about? I saw them brutally murdered as a child! I've seen their spirits myself! Where are you getting such nonsense?"
"Listen, kid, they aren't dead, if you want to see them, or at least hear more, find me. I'll be outside of town, usually near the northern forests"
As the man dissapeared into the night, Ules scoffed a bit and returned to his plate, now splintered and near broken. He pondered a moment before continuing with it. After he finished, he threw it into a pile of similarly low-quality plates and bowls, and wrapped them in a leather bag, and headed towards the merchant that is usually on the shop's roof. He kept thinking about what that man said, but shook it off as he approached the tavern.

Later that night, as he was lying on the ground outside of town, Ules began thinking. What if that man was telling the truth? What if his parents really were alive, and he had just never looked close enough at the whole thing. Maybe his parents weren't spirits when he saw them, maybe they were something else, and Adam had been wrong ((refers to an rp of mine long ago....which im reading to recall info
)). This brought up some other thoughts in his head.
His arm, or any of him, for that matter, hasn't glowed in a long time. Even though there's been horrible troubles since then. He eventually shakes off the thought, figuring it's because his magic has been dormant for so long, and he hasnt even tried mind reading in a long while.
Ules then began wondered why a random person knew about his parents, rather than someone he knew. He had a slight geuss as to who it might be, but he couldn't think of a motive, or why he could suddenly interact with that person.

"So, you decided to come afterall" The man said in a sly manner as Ules approached.
"Yes...I'm curious. First of all, how do you know that they're alive?"
"I have.....connections", the man said in a sort of unsure tone
"Alright, second of all, are you Cris Felko?"
The man smiled as Ules said this, though Ules didn't see this as the man was turned around. He removed his hood slowly, showing some shaggy, dark hair, and then turned around. As ules had thought the man's eyes were a very dark brown, and there was a bit more facial hair then ules thought at first. This man looked just like a thief. Of course, this didn't surprise Ules as he already knew plenty about Cris.
"Yes...yes I am"
"I see...well we both know we shouldn't be seeing each other"
Cris was silent a moment, seeming to be thinking, then replied "I'm not entirely sure. You're supposed to be the smart wizard, why don't YOU take a geuss"
Ules looked down for a second, deep in thought as to what could be allowing them to speak. He recalled that they never could meet before, yet they could both interact with people. Perhaps it had somethign to do with magic. But it couldn't be that simple, could it? Ules was a bit confused, and eventually just gave a bit of a shrug
"Hmm...", Cris continued "well that's really not important. The important thing is that you come with me. I've....persuaded a captain of a ship to take us to where we need to go", he said as he let off a cold, evil sounding chuckle, which sort of chilled Ules' spine.
Ules shivered for a second before finalyl saying "Al...right, then let's go, and I'll warn yuo ahead of time, if you happen to be lying...I'll-"
"What?", Cris interrupted, "slap me?", he mocked as he scoffed at Ules
"Well, no...", Ules started, "I was thinking more of taking your mind for msyelf and using you as a servant", he continued with an overly sly smirk on his face"
"You and I both know that that wouldn't likely work, all things considering", Cris replied in an arrogant manner, "Now let's go"
The two walked across the island, and Cris led them to a ship, on which the captain was tied up and several crew members lay dead. Ules had a sort of nervous feeling, which reflected onto his face, as they climbed onboard. He looked around, wondering who had lost family members because of Cris. But that wasn't important, he knew if he questioned Cris' motives he'd never know if Cris knew anything. But he was curious, and still asked Cris about it, though in a non-criticising way
"Would it have killed you to just ASK them if you could use the boat?", Ules questioned, though Cris seemed to just ignore.
Cris looked at the controls for a minute before eventually saying "Um..any idea how to use a boat?"
Ules pondered a moment, and replied "Sort of, though I've enver actually tried"
All this time, the captain, still tied, up, was attempting to free himself by untying to rope. It was of course no use, as Cris was great with knots, as his nimble fingers could do near anything with a rope. The captain eventually realized this and attempted to fish through hsi back pocket for a knife, which he evntually found. He began cutting at the rope, as the two he was watching continued to talk.....

Ules and Cris begin setting up the ship for the journey, though Cris refuses to say exactly where it is that they're going. Ules figures that Cris'll have to tell him soon, since Ules will be the one directing the ship.
Ules takes a dove, currently in a small cage, out of his back, and attaches a note to it. He tells the dove to bring that note to Brar Beothach
The captain of the ship is pretending to be knocked out, but is secretly cutting at the rope. Ules hasn't noticed this, but Cris already spotted it with his keen eyesight, and has his short sword ready for when the captain attacks.
Ules prepares the sail, and begins untying the ship so that they can leave
"So," Ules started, "Are you going to tell me where it is we're going anytime soon?"
Cris smirks and says, "Just head east"
Ules sighs but reluctantly nods his head. They has just started off when the captain stands up, free from the rope, and jumps at Cris. Cris, already having the seen the man get up with his peripheal vision, just takes his short sword out and immediately places it between him and the captain, causing the captain to run into it. Ules gasps a bit at this, but Cris just pulls his sword out and lets the captain fall down, near death
"Are...are you just going to leave him like that?", Ules questioned with a slight stutter
"Yes, and if you know what's good for yuo, you will as well. He was a fool to attack me, and he faces the consequences." Cris said with an agressive tone.
There is a heavy silence for a long while, as they begin the long trip to wherever it is they are going...

Ules awakes to a *bump*, and realizes that they are in violent waters at the moment. He looks to see Cris attempting to control the ship, but with lack of knowledge of how to, he isn't doing very well. Ules jumps up as fast as he can, nearly tripping and falling in the process, and goes over to help Cris. the two together are able to keep the ship in one piece for the duration of the area
----------
A few more days pass when Ules awakes (again) to the cry of "Land"
"We're there?", Ules questioned sleepily
"Yes, we should reach shore within the hour"
"Good", Ules started, less sleepily this time, "I wasn't exactly enjoying the ride"
"Stop whining. You'll be able to see your parents soon"
Ules sat there silent for a few seconds, before asking "Why are you doing this? Is there any reason yuo want me to be able to see my parents again?"
Cris smirks, "I'm not sure, though I suppose we could go with the fact that i might be rewarded by them"
Ules rolled his eyes, and easgerly awaited reaching the shore...

The ship finally reaches shore, though with no dock around, they are forced to beach the boat. Ules looks around, and is immediately surprised that they aren't on his home island, at least at first he is. He then realizes his parents likely wouldn't come back there, after what happened. The land they are now in has a tundra-like environment, with lush snow covering the landscape, and the occassional pine tree dotting the area. They are at a small town, littered with tiny huts that have plumes of smoke coming out of them. Many of the older and some younger human men are bearded, and some dwarves are seen among the humans. Many of them carry alrge axes on their backs, and all of them are dressed in furs and like clothes
Ules observes the area a moment before stating, "This is a Noradaj settlement, isn't it?"
Cris nods
"What are we doing here"
"There should be someone to meet us here soon"
---
After about an hour of waiting, a young man, looking to be early twenties, with blond hair and a short blonde beard, and black eyes, and a fairly muscular build, approaches the two.
The man speaks in common tongue, though he obviously isn't very skilled with it.
"You two Cris and Ules?", the man asks
"Yes, we are" the two answer at about the same time.
"Good, follow"
The man motions for them to follow him, and they begin walking to the north, past the village, and into a small forest....

Ules, Cris, and the man walk through the harsh tundra for hours. Ules is obviously extremely tired, and his slowed pace and periodic panting show this. Cris sort of smirks at this, and continues on with the man, though at a slightly slower pace so Ules can catch up. Finally they arrive at a cave. Ules looks at it for a moment, but can't see through its darkness. He evntually looks aroun, and finds some sticks and a club. He grabs a shirt from his bag, dips it in some whisky from his bag, and places it over the club. He uses the sticks to start a slight flame, and then transfers it over to the club, which sets ablaze. They then head inside...
As they enter the cave, Cris stops
"What's wrong?" Ules questioned
"You guys go on, I dont need to go any further than this..."
--
Cris headed back to the ship on his own, and took it back. he knew Ules would find other ways to get home. He remembered Ules' use of the boat and mimicked it best as he could as he sailed home
--
Ules shrugged, and continued to go through the cave with the man he didn't know. The cave was fairly small, and the two had to crouch slightly to go through without hitting their heads. water dripped from icicles and stalagtites, hitting Ules in the head, which annoyed him. He eventually put his hood up, though the threadbare robe's hood wasn't much of a help. Eventually, they got a to a large room in the cave, and they were able to stand up. They heard some odd noises, and went towards them....
