Mages of Allusia

Post by Dalamar Windwalker »

First of all this is a academy thats just here to teach you ((Not like the academy)). We also need more teachers. Well back to the Mages of Solamia. The academy consists of certain groups of differnent colored robes. Here are the classes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The White Robes
The members of the White Robes strive to use their power to better theworld for themselves and all its inhabitants. They never seek tosubjugate or dominate others, but this does not prohibit them from combat if they see the need.
The Red Robes
Wizards of the Red Robes seek to use their power to maintain a balance of power throughout the world. Whether trying to keep Evil or Good from obtaining an overwhelming advantage in their great struggle, or simply watching over the balance of power within their own Tower of Sorcery, foremost in their mind is that the balance between Good and Evil be maintained. They will not usually seek out combat, but if they think that the balance is being threatned, the Red Robes will enter the fray with no holds barred.
The Black Robes
The Black Robes' goals are diverse, but all have the same underlying theme. They seek to increase their own power in comparison to the other Orders, society in general, and other members of their order. They generally do what they please, except when opposed by mages of the other orders.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Mages of Solamia are governed by a Conclave of Wizards. Each order sends seven wizards to sit as it's representatives to the Conclave. One of these representatives also serves as the Master of the order. This honor is determined differently, depending upon which order you are referring to. In any event, the Master serves a life-long term in their position. From the twenty-one delegates, one is selected to serve as the Master of the Conclave.

If a person wishes to join the Mages of Solamia, they usually begin at a young age, studying under an archmage, who is generally approved by the Conclave. When a pupil is deemed ready, he or she ventures to a secluded area to take the Test . The Test is incredibly hard, and is never undertaken by a person not completely devoted to magic, since failure means death. Each Test is different, customized for each apprentice by the Conclave itself to measure each individual's strengths and weaknesses. The Test is designed to separate the wheat from the chaff; in other words to take those who will use magic responsibly and admit them to the order, while leaving undesirables out. Through their actions during the test, each apprentice pledges allegiance to an Order of High Sorcery.

Hmm, your order seems admirable, and a good idea, but I'd like to speak to you before applying to join. Is there perhaps a time we could meet? By the way, if I join, it will likely be as a Red Robe.

I believe his title is relative to his position within the guild he belongs to.

They have their own beliefs on magic, and their own values and standards involving it, and if they want to call him an archmage, then that is what they believe.

There have been some questions abou the test and more staff about the Mages of Allusia in General.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Test of High Sorcery
Wizards begin their training at an early age, usually under the tutelage of a tutor or within the halls of a wizard academy. Such training weeds out those who are not serious about the Art, and prepares those with the gift for magic for the time that they must take the Test of High Sorcery.
The Test of high sorcery holds several functions, including testing a wizard's magical potential, screening out those who are not serious about the magic, and to learn how the wizard would use his magic in the future.
Each test is different, specifically tailored to the wizard's strengths, weaknesses, and needs. Passing the Test results in the wizard pledging himself fully to the magic, and to one of the patron gods of magic ( Findari
for White Robes,Brágon for Red Robes, Nargùn for Black Robes). This dedication is for life, and the wizard must pledge to abide by the laws of the Conclave.
The Test will change the wizard forever, often leaving physical or emotional scars. For some, there are emotional scars, such as the loss of a loved one who entered the Test with the wizard, or a phobia.
Each Test calls several elements into play. All Tests are rigorous. Each Test has at least three challenges that calls upon the wizard's knowledge and use of magic.
Three tasks or perils within the Test must not be solved through magic alone. One confrontation will be against a friend, companion, or ally. A wizard must also face a foe more powerful than himself.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Conclave of Wizards is the governing body of the Wizards of High Sorcery. The Conclave consists of seven members of each of the three orders. Each Order selects one of the seven Conclave members to be the Master of that order.

The Master of the Black Robes is the most powerful wizard of that order. This has occasionally resulted in some fabulous contests of wizardry as two wizards vie to establish who is most fit to rule their order.The Red Robes draw lots to determine who shall lead them. The White Robes hold elections.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heres the gods that you will worship if you jin a certain robe.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

White Robe

Findari's believers were always few, since she did never care much about temples and being worshipped. It is said that she still chooses some rare followers by herself, who then become visionairs or wandering prophets, or even great bards and artists.

Robe Robes

Brágon was the first who left Illarion. But sometimes, he still visits it, and he has rebuilt one temple by himself – but there are no priests or believers to worship him there. He sometimes blesses people who sacrifice valuable things in his temple. When he left, he has given Malachín the power over his former worshippers.

Black Robes

His followers are few, and most people simply do not mention his name not to attract his attention. They believe that everything happens accidentally, and to make a fortune, one must play with high risk to have fun. Many gamblers pray to Nargùn, and some mad people claim to be chaos priests. But most of these people seem quite insane, a price for the unreliable power Nargùn gives – if he gives any. Mad prophets or hermits, or babbling idiots and a few orc shamans, sometimes claim to be Nargùn priests. Their insanity seems to grant them a different point of view, and often much wisdom lies in the madness of a real Nargùn priest. But most of Nargùn's followers do not admit who they follow, and pretend something else. Some jesters are Nargùn followers too. Their believes are totally varying, for example the mad prophet who wrote the „Very Sacred Book of MOO“ and the „Unbelievable Stuff of BOO“, did believe that when people die, they have to choose an intelligent leader cow from a herd that shows them places with „funny mushrooms“ to see great colors and visions.
