Sound Effects Help

Post by Cliu Beothach »

Well,

With a lack of supplies for certain sounds, it is very hard to generate or create the sounds needed. So, I need help from people willing to. If you have a mic (or not, sound editors are helpful too!) and ideas, post here or Private message me.

We need inventive ideas and imaginations. As I said, a microphone is not necessary, if you can contribute ideas and possibly editting, that will help to.

I think that a forest ambient sound woulb be nice for when wandering the forests such as in Tol Vanima. (If it was not for the whole copyright thing I would direct you to freeaudioclips.com to search for one) And also maybe some music for cities depending on each one such as for Trolllsbane some normal medieval music and for Tol Vanima some peaceful music etc. thats all my ideas for now :)

We don't take care of music, that is for another department. Only sound effects.

I am working on some ambient sounds such as birds and waves, but these may only be used for tools of GMs and such.

Hmm a gong sound would be nice... if someone were to have a sheet of metal you could hit it and record it. :)

We have gongs ingame? :?:
What would a gong sound be used for? :)

PS- And why use sheet metal when Rinya has a real one?

Well, we need a sound for the horn, instead of flooding the screen it would make an annoying sound. I have a micro but i dont know how to save sounds out of it

Just use the sound recorder program found on most computers, it might not let you edit but its a start.

What would be ideal for that is if someone of us owns an actual trumpet/other horn instrument. Then get someone like me, who has no trumpet experience, to try and play half a scale on it. That should work fine :) .

As for other instruments, I have plenty of real instruments that I could record sounds for. My only problem is that I really have very little idea on how I could go about recording any of it. Tutorial? I'd be happy to try and make a few for instruments.

EDIT: Ah, right. That thing =3 .

Just let me fiddle around with it and figure out the best way to go about this...

You said you had a lack of supplies for certain sounds. Perhaps it would help if you included a list of sounds you were unable to create?

Hmm,

A lote of monster sounds. I have tried working on them and failed and will try again soon.

Large footsteps, growls, screams, macabre stuff like that.

I also want to make some ambient effects, and possibly more crafting effects. Such as more sound effects for smiths, mining, tailoring, and so on.

Due to reasons of size, sound effects should be less than 4 Seconds in length.

For ambience, midi music is better suited.

Yes, all sounds must be in stereo as well, but equalized.

If anyone has trouble with this, I can fix it.

Yes wav.

Any sounds are helpful, they may not be used, but contributing a sound isn't bad.
