stupid ideas, questions, and comments by me

Post by Poots »

I shall list them in no particular order:

1. I don't know how much programming this would take but would it be possible to make it so people could go diagonaly?

2. I have looked everywhere for ring effects, iG and RL. it's like they don't have effects

3.Ive asked this before but does wearing two rings double their effects?

4.theres a glitch, (I don't know if you know about it) where if I'm directly south from the depot in troll's bane's shop, and I right click on my far right belt slot, my map screws up and everything, half the shop, npcs, and chars take a step left and then down.

1. Programming would be the less work I suppose, but did you think about the graphics?

2. The best hidden secret of Illarion... you'll never find out.

3. Maybe... what says your common sense?

Number 4 is my glitch!

It works like this. The two last slots are bugged, right clicking each in a building causes either you to move up or to building map to slide up and left. So don't click them.

1. You can drag your char diagonaly. Walking in this manner is not planned.
2. Rings have huge effects. Really.
3. Depends what you call "to double". Having two rings MIGHT be better than one, depends on their effects.
4. Well known, a new client is on its way.

I did consider the graphics, but once again, I have no clue how long you guys work on those and how hard they are to make.

*sigh* I will never no the mystery of the rings, which is really wierd when I sell them. I have to say things like, "the Topaz ring can do....stuff...good stuff..it magick" and sound like an idiot

Oh yeah, I forgot,

5. could it be possible to make rings break after a long time? people buy rings from that old goldsmith and never need any more from me........ever.

It would take an awful lot of programming and double the character graphics.

Really, the rest of us are in the same boat. Stop pissing and moaning, no one is going to think your char is an idiot because, lets face it: he isn't the only one. Its part of the mystery. Why can't some people just respect things OOC the way they are and enjoy the fact that they have them in the first place? Its a privilege for all of us to be able to play this game and I'm sick of all the demanding going on all the time.

actually the in game we have many theorys what rings do, so you can easily find out the "myth" is.
What you are actually asking for is hard technical facts on the matter, the devs/gms are not prone to sharing those :wink:.
How ever i have found rings have affects some say they do not.
Ruby=health
Blackstone=speed
Bluestone=mana
Emerald=learn faster
I forget the others but there you go ask around many people know the myths. No a GM is not going to swoop down and go looking at your stats and skills if you wear an ice bird ammy, one ruby and emerald you will pwn three times more than Athian even though he has a diamond ring where one should not be.
Give it up already

Quinasa,you complain at every complainers youre no better :wink:
He just suggested that we can have a way to know ring effects,well that would be logic since we should know whats the use of what we make ourselves,isnt it?

better if people figure out on there own, plenty of people know the ring 'effects'. but they're myths ingame as said so around some items you'd expect to find some hearsay and half truths like arameh's Lo-gur armor gives you some protection to magic nonsense. it doens't matter if it's true in an ooc manner,it's an ig rumor. you just have to ask the 'right' person about any item in question, i don't see why anyone would need another crutch :roll:

Just as a side note...the information used to be widely available. It was on a (now disappeared?) Illarion fan site and in the books ingame, for those with high library research skills. I find it interesting that it's such a big secret now.

..But I'm not looking through old log files to confirm or deny what Pendar said ;)

I wasn't even suggesting that I should know, I didn't know this was supposed to be a big secret. I thought people knew. that's kinda cool though.

I thought bluestone made it so that the powergaming messege. "you need to rest your mind" or whatever didn't appear as much.

Was it a German fan site? I can't recall that many sites with specific information about items from way-back.

I can. But even on that particular fansite it mentioned that they were only rumors.

I may know myself *hint hint*

I'm sorry, I was in a rotten mood yesterday because of something non-illarion related. Hope I didn't offend anyone. ;]
