GM characters

I've heard a few things about non-GM players with GM characters. How would someone get one, and would that mean someone could play something like, say a drow? I'm just wondering, thats all, but I do desire to someday play a drow (I have the Drow Dictionary on my computer.).

Most of those players are developers or were granted a GM character on the short term. I have a GM character that I loan out to players; however, because it's my GM character to loan out and if anyone causes havoc with it it's my responsibility, I'd have to trust the player first and it would, of course, only be useable by the player for one event.

Others, such as Manuel, don't have a GM character but do quests for players anyways for the enjoyment of it.

Don't set your heart on playing a drow, though. It's not easy to get permission in Illarion to play odd things. Also, Illarion drow are very different from drow in other settings.
