Haven't heard this for a while...

But if you ask a goldsmith IG, he'll tell you what they do,.. if you pretend to want to buy one ;)

another question, is gem cutting a skill? because Ive cut alot of gems and it doesn't show on my skill list. But i also head that to learn a skill, you need a masster at it to watch you.

Gemcutting is a skill (a very hard one, though). And I could provide a list of the effects of rings. But I won't ;-)

It may be on the Ultimate Illarion website, or an older one. The effects used to be in the books. You could try looking there if you're dying to know.

Ultimate only lists rings and amulets, but no stats...adn there is no emerald ring listed, or does it not exist?

They do exist...I've seen them. Rather pretty :D

Though I haven't tried mining for smaragd recently.

Illa's green gem is the Smaragd. It's really sort of light teal-green. We now have to drag Fooser to a public flogging for leaving off the smaragd gem.

I think smaragd was somewhat plentiful on the old client, at least. Not sure if you'll need to search around a bit harder for it on the new client. Besides that, I think all of the other gems have been mentioned.

Don't know why it's called smaragd, since I think that's the german word for emerald. So why isn't it called emerald under english mode?

Surely because the one who did the work didn`t know. I will proof and change that.

PS: After a short look into the databases: it seems someone else already has changed smaragd in emerald.

I've just checked ingame. At the moment, the raw form of the gem appears as "raw samargd", but the cut form appears as "emerald" .

man, gem cutting must be hard, you have to cut a billion gems just to get the skill, and when you do get the skill you still suck at it, so you still have to practice in another billion gems so your at least some what good at it

It use to be, put 1) People didnt like the too-much-info thing, and 2) They probably have changed since 3 years ago, not sure, but guessing

Same way with crafts, they change every week, I never keep up *cry*
