A visit

It was very early in the morning as Caitlin entered the south forest, with her young son in her arms. Caden was awake and curiously he eyed the environment as they got deeper and deeper into the wood.

A rustling noise in the treetops followed them and Caitlin didn't even need to raise her head to know that it was Ysgar. Her crow.
"It's good to hear from you my friend", the lady in the greengrey robe said and a crowing reply came from above.
After a while Caitlin reached a fallen tree trunk and she took a seat there, rocking her son gently. She has been followed since the moment she entered this forest, that she knew. It was just a matter of time til someone would show up.

Finishing this thought a green, huge creature revealed from behind some trees and stood beside the blackhaired woman. The dark eyes of the creature lingered on her son.
Caitlin looked up and a smile of joy appeared on her lips.
"I'm pleased to meet you, servant of the great mother and keeper of every living thing in these woods.", Caitlin greeted it, while the forest troll gave a familar growling and bent down to observe the little human in Caitlins arms.
"This is Caden, my son. He is already six months old."

Another gentle growl came from the creature, its eyes not leaving Caden.
Caitlin chuckled. "I know that he is small... but you should have seen him at his birth. He is growing very fast."
Caden's eyes widened at the sight of the forest troll and then gave a joyous giggle and reached out his tiny hand for it. Caitlin could have sworn that the troll tilted its head in this moment before it extended one of his green fingers to touch softly the childs hand.

Caitlin smiled... but in the very same moment she became serious again and looked up to her friend.
"My friend,.. tell me. You know about my bond to the forests, yet I wonder if it also affects on my son. What do you think?"

The green creature raised it head, looked into the black eyes of the pale woman and its quiet growl hummed through the forest
