Healing Potions

Yes another complain thread...
Healing potions, could you please change the system? Yesterday there was a small fight IG, in which 2 orcs fought against 3 people... 1 of which is a guard. The fight took too long and was stupid due to the fact that the orc was gulping down healing potions like crazy.
I'm not complaining against the PO, he was running away before each drink.. but the healing potion system.
Its not fair for example also for archers, fighters can afford to attack till they run out of potions, archers can't run - fire [watch enemy drink potion].. because they will run out...
Here are my suggestions:
1) Healing while running is not allowed
or
2) Healing may only be done by someone else.. so the medicos will have something to do

or
3) Healing potions lose power with each drink.. (body more resistant to it)
or
4) Time delay for heal
I know all the coders are working themselves out with the new client/systems.. but i think it wouldn't take much time... 2 or 4 are already in the poision system... so i think a re-work would be all

Just 4) is a smart idea. before the wipe potions didn't heal immediately, it needed time until the heal bar was full again.. like the normal healing rate, just faster. I still don't know why that got changed after the wipe.
The others idea are not good.

I must add however, Medicos healing people with herbs and bandages would always be a nice feature. Why this would completely nerf someone's ability to just gulp down a potion, I do not understand though.

This remembers me of "bleeding" maybe I can implement such things in the future. If a char is hit he is wounded and bleeds. (Maybe only really hard hits, or only special hits. There are other boards to discuss how it will work concrete) during the char bleeds he has a constant lose of HP. Drinking poitons wouldn't help here because they don't close the wounds. Medicos can help with bandages to stop the bleeding.

So we could finally have real assassins?
I like that idea Cass brought, it's way more refined. That at least would explain why people can't heal a certain wound by just chugging down another "pot".

Try running for your life whislt taking something from your belt.. then drink
3) The reason you need more paracetamol every time you have a headache is a clear indication that a body gets resistant to drugs

Yeah, that would be stupid since you would die everytime that happened. You're depending on the face that a medic would be logged on, and that they would be semi-near, which is definetly not the case either.
As to potions: can't heal while running makes no sense, and you should never take away someones ability to heal themselves, that doesn't help anything.

Delayed healing should already be in place. Or even, drink delay so this person can't keep running and will be caught up to at least at first. Or even a timed system like WoW, you can drink one kind of potion every so often. Or, stop the sale of strong healing potions altogether until they are corrected.
Idears.

No.. currently the ratio of real-life dedication to Illarion dedication requirement is 2:1.5.

Before we start moaning about 'unimportant things' perhaps we should focus on the main problems.
Economy and the players online.
First off, we need players, i suggest that someone finds some sites which host links for free to mmorpg's and add llarion.
Secondly, once we have the players we need to keep them occupied.
Perhaps special new player/small amount of player quests?
I for one am tired of the same 4 or 5 players taking the 'lead' roles in quests everytime, leaving the rest of us out. Maybe we could have more daytime quests? To keep the earlier players occupied, instead of the americans.
As for the economy, it's been moaned about enough times and i won't bore you with it, i guess it will change in the new client

Making it way past midnight in some parts of america?
If this is correct I play various times and i would like to point that we very seldom see epic quests in this time zone.
Infact most main quests happen in European time, so i am not sure why you believe american players are being favored with quests. Certainly the time between 11 gmt through to now is most often quest free.
I really cant comment on your thoughts that the same 4-5 players. I would hope people play there role in quests and if there role falls to leading or a spot light so it happens. I doubt the GM's are consorting to make sure X players are favored. Quests to me in illarion are really a platform to add to social interaction, friendships are formed or enemys made, disagreements occur and so it goes. I think part of that would have to do with quest's being often centred in trollsbane. The guard will tend to attempt to take control, as well its our job and as such role.
Last quest on Vanima i didnt even attend, how ever the whole issue of quest rp is whole topic unto itself. Hopefully part of this can be adressed in the new client with interesting npc quest for people

How ever advertiseing the game i would wait for the new client and a fully working beta, as right now we lack magic, we have glitches like insta healing potions. I would say hold back the ad campaign until we make the next leap.
