Spamming ect.
I have to admit, I am starting to get very miffed about how people are treating other people on this forum. As some people saw earlier in the balls of wool thread.
For the past month and a half, a bunch of good off-topic threads have been destroyed by people who just can't learn to avoid the threads or board altogether.
All I have seen recently is "Your postcount is high, stop spamming." and "Shut the smile up, I'm not a spammer" among the usual amounts of #3 breaking.
There is a bunch of simple solutions for this:
Who are you to decide whose spamming? If they are not banned, they are not causing trouble. Period. No matter how much whining you do about so and so's 25 average posts a day, the GM's don't think its a bannable offense, so drop the subject.
Avoid the off-topic board or threads in the off-topic board YOU think are "Stupid" or "Spam". Most of these are for fun among people who enjoy that sort of thing. Most of us don't go messing up your book topics with "OMG I HATE BOOKS GTFO YOU SPAMMER" So show us the same kindness.
Stop flaming people with high post counts because you believe they are spamming. This gets annoying. I'm tempted to ask the post counter be removed altogether to shut you all up, but I don't think thats fair for certain reasons.
Stop whining about it and filling up entire topics of some value with it. You do not realize your whining about spam by spamming about spam. And right now I am Spamming about your Spamming by whining about Spam.
DON'T Fight back with those people who are whining. This will only start a flame war. Wait until they say some stupid shit that gets them banned.

I think people should judge a "Spammer" on the quallity of their posts, not just on the quantity of posts. From looking at the member list, Martin has the most posts, but the ones I have read have been on topic and had a point. Flaming is a bad way to deal with a spammer. Ignoring their posts is probably the best way to deal with them!

Actually, I didn't start the "Clean Up" Topic, my dead AlaineAlaineMilan wrote:The Returner I have to ask you something. You started the clean up thread in the off-topic right? You was annoyed by these silly topics. And I think you are right, but now think about this: Who starts these topics? Or who writes the most "shit" in these?

If nobody complains about spamming, spamming woulden't exist, therefore they wouldent have a reason to bitch, creating a paradox that means this post never existed, and you there = banned from lifez0rz.Gro'bul wrote:I think people should stop spamming about the anti-spam spammers who are complaining about the spammers in the first place. Its a vicious cycle, only you can say no.

Here is the problem.. all of us are spamming and we aren't realising it
Half the posts aren't even on-topic.. ok a few side comments are ok, but dont make it into a discusstion..if its an argument, them PM it
Example : How did my thread of the New fansite end up with an argument regarding illegal sharing of characters, and grant/garret ect is beyond me
Example 2: Another thread [which i forgot] ended up with a discussion about whether i'm prejudicing bis ect... [ok that was partly my fault]
Example 3: the new fansite [again]... Devrah asked for help, and instead you verbally assaulted her... thats gratitute
Could we try to stick to the topic?
Thank you

Yeah that wasnt very nice of garret to verbally harrass poor devy about her fansite, but lucky me, she gets to come play with me in another realm of virtual reality. But i agree with returner, its not our place to say anything as its the gms job to dictate who is spamming or rule breaking. unless we got a massive amount of gms or administrators that im unaware of. In short i dont think that you should worry about lableing people a rulebreaker unless your a gm for two reasons one. its not your job. And two, its just more work for you becouse many people break rules and lableing them all would be tedious
