Anouncement: A retirement and a new job...
Ladies and gentleman of Illarion,
I would like to announce to you all that I have quit the GM's. Although I believe that I do have the time for it, unfortunately my time is not compatible with that of the other players. This left me with the less enjoyable aspects of GM's, rather than the fun of interacting with all of you and having quests.
The last quest that I did, the Oak's Sojourn, with the Elder Tree and the fairy Slasthulphus, was a sort of analogy to explain my feelings of the situation, and some few of you understood, while most did not. Even coming from the high point of Illarion existance, I wanted to go back to being a regular newbie with only the responsibility to play.
To that end, I announced long ago to Martin my feelings on the situation and he accepted my resignation, allowing me to finish certain duties that I felt needed to be done. However, I found that my time was incompatible with such a large group of players that I could not even finish those (sorry, Varshikar. I'll coach my replacement on doing you guys right).
However, I will not be leaving the staff fully. Keikan, our head map editor, has been quite busy with his life lately and I will be taking his place as head map editor. He, meanwhile, will continue to be a part of the map editing team, as he has been there from the beginning and his experience will be quite helpful.
So if you have a proposal for a quest, please go to Estralis or Japheth, or my soon-to-be-hired replacement. They are the professionals and this is what they do; most importantly they do it well. If you have a proposal for the map (aside from adding buildings to cities or building cities, which should be sent to the appropriate GM) you can expect me to be excited to hear it.
Cheers,
Mitch AKA Aegohl
P.S. Don't be offended if I change my MSN nick soon. My messenger is just way too full (to the extent where I have several categories that I've put together to remember who all of you are, and even that's not worked) and I know that many of you added me because you needed to speak to a GM. Now it becomes habit for me to lurk invisibley so as not to be overwhelmed with messages.
I appreciate it. I really do, but it tends to be a bit burdensome.

Soon, hopefully. There is still some discussion going on as to my replacement, as our first choice went MIA for a couple of days. Hopefully this person will be back.Erart Ridoc wrote:Bah, a gm can never go back to the noob realm with all of us. You know way to much
But anyways, how soon will your replacement be around?
Sort of. Aegohl is the name of my GM character that is used for quests, which I still have for a few days yet.Laendir wrote: Aegohl, do you have the same name in a game that you have on forum?
