Problem with IE - Not really an Illarion problem

Post by Astral »

Sorry for making this not about Illarion, but I need help with my Internet Explorer.  For whatever reason, my version of Explorer encounters an illeagal operation when trying to load embedded sound files.  Is there an easy solution for this, or is it just my computer?  I am just looking for an answer without having to go too far.

Uh, I think theres a recent update, that might help (the icon gets brighter, or something...)
My version of IE is 6.0 with a bunch of 0's and a few other numbers.

The plugin for this is media player. May be other program have registered itself for playing sound files (for example quicktime) and it raises this exception for some reason.
I recomend to reinstall media player (or quicktime).
You can check what exactly app is registered (for midi files) -
(I am with quicktime so dont count exact numbers)
open regedit and see at:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\audio/midi
   CLSID = {02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B}

Then find coresponding key at
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\

With me it is:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B}
And see what is value of @Default at right pane
