@ Martin: Apparently those sneaky players chose a pre-existing Welsh word to name the island with. Gobaith means hope, in Welsh, or so I am told.
As I have said elsewhere, much credit must go to Duath.

Whats with "Grey Haven" I never knew that existed. Unless its the Grey Rose castle, which would make alot of sense.

Its the name of their castle, which is not the Grey Rose castle. Since also the grey light helped build it! Case closed. *puffs on an imaginary pipe* Also, THE MAP LOOKS AWSOME GJ TO WHO MADE IT!

It is great, and a nice surprise to wake up to.
Duath did a great job as well as cleared up many specific landmark names.

The map is really great and looks wonderful ....
but the location named "Hug of Sirani" was in the past mostly a place, where a Zelphia temple was located, which does make sense with all the water around the statue in the middle.
And the north-western landscape wasn't ever in connection with Zelphia as far as I remember ingame history. There took place long ago a quest about the maid turned to stone and it was also a hiding place in different situations. Maybe it would better fit to Ronagan.

Mind you, this is a hand painted map on real paper. It's not like you load that thing to photoshop and replace some words.
However, maps are not 100% accurate all the time, take it as a contribution to realism.

Great map, and Donal is right, the name was Gobaith (if not Aandar which was the vote winner

)

Some few places like the 'Hug of Sirani' and the 'Place of Zelphia' are named by me. I used the knowledge of my chars. The "wrong" stories were told me by some EX-GMs some years ago
But i really like the map, the mistakes included *g*
@Grey Haven. In german the castle is called 'Graue Zuflucht'. For a long time there was no english name for this. Some people use 'Grey Haven' and 'Grey Refuge'. 'Castle of the Grey Rose' is a big mistake. Maybe the Grey Light should be more active, to show, that they also are inhabitants of the castle.

There is no need to edit the map.
Maps might include mistakes. Show me a bugfree, real map. It does not exist.

yes, but few perhaps have the actual name of the place spelt wrong. I merely
changed the spelling because some people pointed it out.

By the way, I'm just curious. How big was the original (before scanning and possibly resizes and such) ?

Even the spelling does not need to change. The "unchanged" map looks better (Letter position, they're a bit rotated the spelling correction looks dumb)
We can just take it as it is, and use it as it is. And simply ignore the few errors. Same for the name, let's just use the map one =)
I LOVE that map !

1) I really love the map
2) Having seen the map, why is the dock so far away from Tol Vanima? could we (please) have another dock closer..? For RP reasons?

Uhm...i think...sensless
The place where Tol Vanima is situated is the only place, where enougth space was, to place this island in.

I was thinking of moving the DOCK furthur upstream, seems wasteful for a ship to cross that much water to reach two islands which could be easier to reach at another location...
I would use the current dock to bring in new players....

Well then...gather your elfen, and build a new dock

Thanks for all the compliments

The original map is A3 (42x29,7cm), standard paper, black and red marker, later edited in Photoshop:

For those of you who wish to print the map, a larger file in A4-resolution:

And for those of you who, for some reason, need the whole thing in A3 resolution, contact me:

If the dock near Trollsbane was moved we would have to walk through the woods with all the Trolls in it to get to Trollsbane, besides thats where the docks were before we had Tol Vanima.

Either that or circle around and head through the graveyard. What a pleasant stroll either way, eh?

Yeah, what a nuisance, can't we just have an airfield and a space station, or is this game discriminating against aliens?
The map looks brill, kudos to the creator.

Why do people offer Croutons to people that do good things?
Well, it is a good map. Croutons!
