Account Denied.

Post by Amete »

Hi

I recently requested an account then got the email with the questions, I feel I answered the questions to the best of my ability but my account was still denied :( . It would be a big help to me if I could get some feedback about why my account was denied and then maybe I could start trying to improve. I realise it would take a lot of time to go over my whole story and tell me all the faults with it so I wont ask anyone to do that, but if someone could give me a quick sentence of how I could improve my answers or what I did wrong that would be extremely useful.

EDIT: Sorry I didnt realise that posting my story would upset people. I'll make sure not to do it again. Thank you to everyone who has tried to help me.

You shouldnt post whole stories and the questions, but to me it seems like your first answer is a bit off, and I wont say anymore

Yes that may give away to other players what the questions are.

Back in my day... hehe

Well, I was around before the account application process, though I still had to apply when they put it into effect. Everyone did, of course. When I did, I wrote my response in a story format and I was still accepted, so its probably in the response to the first question. Of course, I won't enclose to what extent, since that would be unfair, even though you seem like one of the more competent applicants I've read about in the Account Board in terms of literacy (you use punctuation, grammar, and capitalization.), so unless the reviewers of applications have become ridiculously strict, I don't see a problem lying within writing in story format.
I mean, would you rather have it in the format in which we currently roleplay?

#me pushes the human off himself.
#me hisses and walks away.
#me comes back later with a big sword and hurts the human.
#me runs away.
((actual character jumps across tiles by the PO dragging himself))
#me dives into the water and swims back to his lizard city underwater.
((actual character walks across the water bank to mimic swimming and then logs off to "dive underwater"))
#me dies from injury due to all the "pound me" commands.

I don't see why it should be removed. Applicants have, I would presume, ample amounts of time to think and respond to the questions they are given, whatever the questions may be. Whether people get time now to think about what they want to say, or whether they apply and then take time to respond seems completely irrelevant. In all truth, it really doesn't put one person above the other in terms of equal chances of getting accepted. If you can't roleplay, you can't roleplay.

I always thought you were supposed to write a story. I mean, what else should you do when you are asked to "continue a story"?

At the top of the email with the questions it said this "Please specify your character names always". I did not understand what this means, could this have been what caused me to fail?

It just says that you should put your character name somewhere into your reply so the staff knows who you are. It wouldn't cause you to fail. It could only happen that you won't recieve any reply because the staff doesn't know where the mail came from.
