Greetings
I'm new here (obviously) and though my account has been approved, I have yet to actually log into the game and play. I do plan to check it out very soon, however . . . hopefully this weekend.
A little about myself, you ask? No? Well, I shall tell you anyway . . . My name is Paul and I have quite a bit of experience roleplaying, both online and off. I've been playing and DMing D&D sessions every Friday night for several years and have been freeform RPing (in chat and in forums) since 1997.
Not long ago, a friend of mine that had been playing in a forum RP I was GMing introduced me to MMORPGs because he had been playing Ragnarok Online, a game that I did not end up liking -- but it did make me begin searching for a MMORPG that is more along the lines of the freeform RP I have always loved. That's when I found Illarion.
This looks like it's exactly what I have been looking for and I have high hopes and expectations. It will certainly take me a little while to get used to the keyboard commands and such needed to play this game, but I am hoping to find a satisfying RP experience interacting with the other player characters within the game.
For the most part, I enjoy "social RP", though I like getting involved in the occassional ongoing plot, as well. I'm hoping to be able to find some new friends here that can help me get started. Please, feel free to add me to Yahoo Messenger (secularian) if you are willing to answer my newbish questions and possibly even RP with me.
I'm at work right now and will be off to play D&D tonight, but I will be around all weekend. Thanks.
By the way -- my character for Illarion is an Elf named "Caelwyn Delaranduil".

Ah . . . thank you. It looks like I have quite a bit of reading to do before I start RPing. I will also read through another site I found . . .

Come on now, Moskher, ULTIMATE ILLARION *sudden voice echoing the title of the site* is not a bad site. Its a pretty resourceful site and even though Fooser better cough up the cash for this endorsement, I fully devote this testamonial to the fact that ULTIMATE ILLARION *another echo bellows throughout the forums* is... uhm.. a pretty resourceful site for newcomers. Yep. Resourceful.Moskher Heszche wrote:Fooser and Nilo put you up to this, right?
Welcome to Illarion, fellow Michigander. We players from Michigan are by far the best.
*Looks to Fooser, who really has nothing to do with the endorsement, waving his hand as if wanting cash*
In any case, welcome to Illarion, newcomer Paul. I hope your prior skills in roleplaying are put to good use here in our community. I look forward to seeing you ingame, when I get around to actually logging in on a more active basis, that is...
