Appeal - Bloodskulls / Trolls Bane

Post by Gwynnether »

***

Now where Kaja and myself are released, I appeal to both fronts to start a recommencement. Stop this senseless bloodshed.

Bloodskulls, all what the town guard and the knights want is to establish order and quietude in Trolls Bane again. The Bloodskulls always were welcomed in Trolls Bane before this disaster.
Maybe it’s in the nature of orcs to fight; I don’t blame you for that, but do it in your land. We never tried to take you your existence. We never attacked your land. All that we want is that the rules of town shall be respected and followed.
No one demands that you put away your orcish manner. You have your land where you can do want you want, but we expect that you try to behave in a foreign town, and that can’t be so difficult, can it?

In the case I may be wrong and you want to indulge that bloodshed furthermore, be aware that it wasn’t the last battle you have lost.
Maybe you can reach little victories when you knock down a town guard again, but you will never win the war, as you have seen on that day.
Trolls Bane doesn’t want to fight, though you would lose.

Town guards and knights, I’ve heard from several people that there is too much interferences in matters that doesn’t concern Trolls Bane. I don’t want to debate if this is true or not. I just wanted to mention it. John himself said to me already, that we should direct our attention more to town internally matters and I agree with him.

We have the chance now to put down our weapons and that is what I expect from both fronts.

My suggestion is to sustain the ban of the Bloodskulls as long as it needs for everyone to calm down. The Bloodskulls have no reason for entering the town. They have their depots, enough raw material in their environment and the trading won’t suffer too because Varshikar is busy as never before.
Should it be lacking of pork I will volunteer for bringing up some rations whenever it’s needed, as well I volunteer to trade with Eliza for them should it be indispensable.
And I’m sure I won’t be the only one who support in this way.
My wish would be that everything becomes as it was before… that the Bloodskulls can enter the town without escalations.
But this goal will be hard to reach, because of both sides flowed blood. Many have been wounded in their proud and honour and the rage dwells deep inside our hearts.
We should let time heal our wounds first.

At last I want to thank Varshikar again, for the help and for doing the only right in this matter.

We shouldn’t look back now and argue about how it all began. I don’t want to speak about what happened or who attacked whom first.
Instead of that we should look forward and use our energy for changing everything that is needed for a peaceful side by side.

I hope to read a statement from Chief Veralion, John Irenicus and Lennier soon

I whole heartedly agree with Gwyn's words. I can only hope that all of you will begin to think of each other as friends and not as enemies. One problem I belive we all have is catergorizing a person due to there race such as the orcs. Such thoughts are irrational and ill concived. It is my hope we can see each other as we truly are. For it is our actions that define who we are not our race. I hope we can all truly come to peace one day and fight for what truly matters.

Signed with hope of peace,

Gannon

Reads Gwyens post and grunts, he looks below and finds Korgs post ands reads it, his face looks rather angered at the post. He pins a note up on the wall.

The bloodskull clan will make no dessicion on this matter till the chief himself tells us what he wants to do, untill then, know that all trolls bane fighters that I see near the Bloodskull lands will fall.

This is terribly irresponsible. How are you to keep your citizens safe when you make peace with an enemy such as this?
They raid our town.
They attack our town.
They murders citizens who are alone in the name of Moshran as early as yesterday and yet you want to make peace with them?
How can you write this without guilt?
These are enemies, they have attacked our town and yet we have never retaliated. We have let them attack us and simply said "Oh, you suffered a loss but attacked later on and killed several citizens we will offer you peace".
I will not agree to this until someone writes why there is anything worth peace with enemies who swear to hunt us down and murder us in the name of Moshran.
Further more, you all speak of a "problem" there is no "problem" it is bloodthirsty Bloodskulls who want to fight. That is the problem. It is not something that we can pretend will go away and never show its ugly face again. Even when the Bloodskulls were allowed in town, the townspeople tread carefully around them because if they provoked the orcs their would be trouble. You want to give these Bloodskulls our food like we were friends?
It is not just murders in town. I have accounts of the Bloodskulls robbing miners of their hard work because the Bloodskulls are to lazy to work themselves. How will we compensate these people?
You expect to give Bloodskulls our meat and food? Can they not fish? Shall we mine for them as well? Should we cut wood for them as well? Shall we give them armor and weapons because they do not have their own? They can trade with Varshikar, Jeremy has a fair shop of foods, the Bloodskulls should not get our food, after what they have down to our town.
I want peace. But at what cost? To achieve peace by ignoring all the evils the orc have done in the recent past? To achieve peace at the cost of our citizens safety and well being?
We should not continue the war, but to accept a mutual peace as if we lost the war, as if both sides did wrong. We did not do wrong. We were attacked. We were pillaged. We defended ourselves. Should we accept peace so easily, what lesson did the orcs learn?
They learned that they can raid all they want, when their Shaman is captured while attacking the town, they capture a citizen of the town and trade for them. And then they'll get peace to recover, to heal so they can strike again when they are in full strength.
And do remember, they are secretive. None of us knew the Bloodskulls could train a spider, or a beholder. Maybe next time, with a shaman they will conjure a demon to help them raid our town. And then what? Will we have peace with them when we beat them?
And how much of this would be different if we had lost the battle? Would they accept a simple peace if we were the loser? Or would they strike again and take our riches again and again?
You can guess what they would do.

I agree with Garett

The Bllodskulls attacked us first, they allied with the horde, they attacked us again, we captured thier shaman, they attacked us again, after negociatiing a peaceful arrangement, the bloodksulls must not be given anything, they lost, they should be forced to give money to the people of this town, who have been hurt by them! Unless the bloodskulls surrender their weapons to us, I will never accept peace with them.

We should rid the problem of the Bloodskulls.
Do not mingle with the words that peace is key to the correction.

War burns in not just the orcs, but us as well. Soon, more conflict will arise.
I say, take advantage of this situation. Rid of a problem now, instead of later.

Though I am apart of nothing, I offer my aid against the orcs. And if there is peace, then I frown upon the cowards.
Delaying, is worse than confronting.

I agree with Gwynn in this step she has taken. I beg of you all, think of all the pain we have suffered. Think of all the pain we've yet to suffer if the fighting doesn't end. It does not matter how much blood has been spilled so far because if you all do not lay down your weapons so much more blood will still be drawn and lost. No one can undo anything that's been done, but we can all work to insure a safer future for us and the people to come. Bloodskulls: the town will not stand down. Guards: the Skulls will not stand down. What you are ALL participating in is a fight to the extinction of a people. Neither the Skulls or the Guard, to the last man with his last dying breath will stop. Stubborn you all have been, thickheaded. Peace can be achieved without murder. I use the term 'murder' because no matter how or why you kill a living being, it is murder. I myself have murdered, not in the name of war, but I have murdered all the same. Stop now when you can, when you are given the chance. You still have so much to save and so much to lose if you do not heed the words Gwynn has put before you.

My best wishes that you make the right decision.

I have killed those who have killed, blood has been spilled on the ground, dis will not end in the way Kasume proposes, nub will it end da way Callith proposed it.

If the town want try to make orcs all die like the stupid human Kasume said, we the skulls will fight to the very last breath, we will take as many of ya as we can with us, and if we turn da tide in one big battle and win, what then, if we know you tried to make us extink, what do you think we wills do....dats right...make you all die.

Da orcs will not just put down our wepons and vow nub fight gain, ta do so would be killing us in a different way.

I have killed in da name Of moashran, but da ones i killed were at the battle when me and da oders skulls tried to get kaja, as i said...as long as we are at war...all the ones who were at that battle against me bruddas will die one by one.
The only way i will not do dis is if there is peace, dough unlikely it might happen.

Garett,
how can I write this without guilt, you ask? Because I know, in contrast to you, how it was in former times. You haven't experienced the time where the Bloodskulls were welcomed here.
Why it is worth to have peace with them? Because I'm not the only one who considers some orcs, (Bloodskulls thereunder too) as friends.
You say you want peace, my friend? Then make a suggestion, when you are so much wiser than I am.

I can't garantuee you that the peace will hold. I can't garantuee you that they won't attack again. But I can tell you, that not every Bloodskull want this war, and that's the fact we should bank on.
They know, that they can't win the war.
So call that, what I'm trying here, an act of grace. Then it's grace what I won't show anymore when they will attack one more time.

If there will be another battle started by the Bloodskulls, I won't campaign for peace again. And when I say "started by the Bloodskulls", I mean the unity, like they attacked the last time.
I'm not speaking about Lorck, who is just doing what comes to his mind anway, and I'm not speaking about Kaja, who - as a shaman of Moshran - would easily tend to sympathize with the horde.

Furthermore I want to mention that it isn't your decision anyway. Neither it is mine.
It's the decision of the councilors who haven't commented yet and it's the decision of the chief of the Bloodskulls.
Should the Triumvirate agree, I expect that everyone who want to play war with the Bloodskulls on his own, shall be taken of the list of citziens, as a sign that he doesn't fight in the name of Trolls Bane.

Lorck, I await you today at the stonering near the sheeps for a duel you shall be satisfied with. If you will be still searching for "revenge" after that duel, I consider all your words as a lie that are just used as a guise.
You want to revenge because the people of Trolls Bane defend their town and their lifes?
How brave and honourable you are.
You, Lorck, feel wounded in your pride, because you lost a battle that you started on your own. And now you are going to hunt everyone down, just because you want to allay the feeling of humilitation you experienced.
And to assuage your bloodthirst.
You don't care about Kaja. You were the loudest who was against it, as I came north with the proposal to release Kaja, if you don't attack.
You knew that he would die if you attack and that thought didn't bother you at least a bit.
Stop hiding behind your guises and prove your loyality to your chief instead.

I see you at the duel, Lorck – warmonger

------------

Gwynnether, i m happy to know you are free again. I thank you for your work to end this conflict. I believe at the and of this day we will decide about it.

But i miss something. Where is Pilzbaizza? Where are the other of the Horde? The Skulls help them?

( http://illarion.org/community/forums/vi ... &start=600 )

I can’t answer for Veralion, Lennier, but I can refer to the board of the Bloodskulls.
I doubt that Pilzbaizza has been given shelter there and if one of the orcs was sympathetic to the horde, then not in the name of the Bloodskulls.

looking at this from a stand point of war. the situation seems rather pointless. at the moment the skulls don't have the numbers to take the town of Trollsbane in one fell sweep that much is evident. However if the guard and the Rose try to attack the skulls outright you lose many tactical advantages. ever seen what happens when a would be army walks into a enlosed area such as the skull cave. when there enemy is prepared. your looking at great loses on either side and even if you occupie the skull cave they'll just take up residence somewhere else and continue to plan revenge. fighting pointless battles is just what it is, pointless. unless both sides are fully commited to Genocide of the other then it will proceed. I'd have toi Agree with Gywn and the others. no one wants to fight that long or that way, those of you who have lived through the Northrot wars and those before it, know that real war is not something of glory, it's dirty and violent and repentance for the crimes we enact in war will no doubt take more then one life time to attone. Believe you me, if there's anyone among you who likes to fight and enjoys violence it's probably myself. however even i realize this war isn't going to anywhere. Take the chance and live peacefully, they'll always be other times to fight if thats what some of the glory hounds seek. But the true rarity is a chance for all warriors to truely rest there tired arms.

Aww, poor orc scared to duel?

"Should it be lacking of pork I will volunteer for bringing up some rations whenever it’s needed, as well I volunteer to trade with Eliza for them should it be indispensable."

Strange way to end a war, by volunteering to be their slave.
