Weight system overhaul - the weights dont make sense

Post by TiP »

ok now let me explain myself

why is it that i can carry 30 iron ore and 30 coal at the same time but can only carry 10 long axes???
To make 1 long axes u need one iron ore and a fire(genereated by the coal)! So it doesnt make snese that the actual axe weighs like twice as much as the ore that goes into it. it even weighs more than double the amount of the ore and coal together. As a carpenter it is more realistic though as i can carry 41 lutes but only 31 logs(i wish i was that strong inreal life!!!)

I believe this was brought up in the past and hopefully gets changed sometime, maybe in the next client.  I believe I mentioned how it didn't make sense for smithed items such as axes to fall on the ground when you smith them.  But there was an explaination that came out of it!  It was concluded that these items contained some sort of magic which made them heavier.  Maybe sort of like MSG only for metal.  Oh well, it cant be rationally explained, we will just have to live with it.

this isn't a matter of the client but has to be done on the server.

Hm dann sollten schwere Waffen und schwere Rüstungen mehr Eisen und Kohle benötigen zum Bau... dann sollte es realistischer sein oder nicht?

ok, i trying to translate to english, but my english is very bad...

i have an idea...

Heavy weapons and heavy amoury should cost more coal and more iron than the moment. Then the wright system should more pefect and more realistic... or not?

Yes, this has been suggested before.  Perhaps a plate armor would require 3-4 coal/ore to make, but a throwing star makes two for every coal/ore.  It does seem more realistic than having a helmet take the same material as a needle.

Yes or you can make x number of needles for every plate armour with one iron and one coal.  If it can be implemented but I don't mind the weight system that much but if it is changed, it is changed!
