Can't create a new account

i have tried to create an account when opening the game but when ever i click Create the screen frezzes and when i do the ctrl+alt+delete it says its not responding.....

People have had this issue before, however the only solution I have heard is to have someone else create the character for you.

Wasn't there a solution for the problem?
When I remember right you have to have the resolution of your screen set to 1024x768. Otherwise it won't work.

That doesn't work for me--I've tried that one and 800x600. I have also tried running it in various different program modes. The strangest thing is that I used to be able to create characters on this computer, and now I can't.
