Despite what had been planned. Kasume threw over his bag and looked down at the sand in the cool afternoon. He looked up at the waters and gazed at them. Memories simply floating by of all the vast adventures, conflicts. All of it. Wondering what would happen next. The knowing of more conflicts brewing in the future.
Looking behind himself he saw the woods. He remembered so much of them. The running, the fights. The mysteries. Everything that reminded him of happiness, and everything that reminded him of sadness. Everything that made him smile, and everything that made him desert to his bottle. Everything that made him clench with anger. Everything that made him grasp with love.
He thought for a moment.
"Little left here for me..."
He tried. Yet failed. He tried once more. Then failed. He tried for one last desperation chance. Yet failed. No more was left. The Farmer's Union grudge meant nothing any longer. The Bloodskull hatred mattered none. His friends, the few he had, most gone. Most faded. Most corrupted. His wait for a friend was of nothing. Meant little.
"Sir!! Sir!!!"
Kasume flashed a glance back at the water. With a warm smile he saw the small boat approaching. Raising his hand.
"From the trade route lines?!
The figure nodded its head. He then closened in. It was a boy. Kasume was fairly surprised. Yet he smiled. With a few words...
"So you are the one who got my message huh?"
The boy nodded excitedly. Kasume lowered his smile. With small disapointment. Taking a small gulp.
"Are you sure of this? You're quite young."
"What do you have planned sir?"
"We are to sail. For a long time."
"The trip back to the trade ship isn't a long one though."
"I know boy. We are not going to the trade ship."
"Then... where are we going?"
"Wherever we wish."
"What?"
"I said, wherever we wish."
"What do you mean by that sir?"
"We sail for as long as needed young one."
"But... what about food? And water?"
Kasume smiled.
"It's all fine. There are many small islands to take rest."
"But... why? Why?? Why?? Why not return home? Where you are wanted?!"
"Because boy, things still tear at you even there."
"What? But... what will sailing endlessly do?"
Kasume took a stare at him thinking for a moment.
"We sail... untill... We meet ourselves."
"Meet ourselves?"
"Meet ourselves..."
"Why would we want to meet ourselves?"
"To understand..."
"What is there to understand sir?"
"There is a lot to understand. Especially for one of your age."
The boy nodded. Only being an age of about 14. Kasume appraoched the land board boat. And leaned against it.
"Are you sure of this now?"
"You're Kasume! Of course!"
Kasume frowned. And then sighed.
"Very well then..."
He climbed into the boat. And he pushed the boat off with his staff. They floated a few feet and then the boy began a bit of rowing into the distance. Kasume stood in the boat and the boy made a few uneasy noises. Kasume wanted one more look of the island. He saw the small tops of a couple buildings. Hardly noticable. The trees blocking the base part. It slowly started disapear. Eventually, completely gone. Looking all around himself. He sat down, and let the waters show him the rest. He looked up at the boy, looking at him in greif. He knew the boy would not live. He would return, but the boy would not.
Although the boy, never noticed Kasume's expressions. He only followed the commands...
Despite...

A large raven caws suddenly overhead, circling down over the small boat. With the flapping of shining black wings, a handful of fleathers flock down and rain upon the people in the boat. A few more graceful flaps let it descend down and land on the perch of the boat, just before Kasume. Staring at the man through bead-like eyes, reflecting the sunshine like gems, the raven opens its beak again to emit another caw. Dangling from its leg is a small note rolled up, attached by a thin red thread. It reads:
Best of luck on your journey. Bring some back with you. We might be needing it.

Kasume leaned against the tree looking over the beach and dark sea of the night. The boy was tending to the fire and sat still next to it. Attempting to keep warm in the strange night. Kasume took a sip from his bottle. He looked into the woods and back at the boy again. Then, quickly he sank into the trees.
The boy sat by the fire for most of the night. Being ordered to stay there to wait for food. Although Kasume had never returned. It had been a few hours and the boy wrapped himself in the Verdaneal cloak, to comfort his fear. If anything were on this island, there would be no way he could do anything about it. Edging his eyes over to where Kasume had decended he waited. Looking back at the fire, then up at the stars to gaze. He gazed at the vast world above himself, wondering what there really was up there. He then thought of being home. Safe in his bed, or sitting by the cozy fire alone when he should be sleeping. Or being home, at fencing practice. Sadly he looked back down at the fire. Just a few moments afterwards, he heard noises coming from the brushing trees. Kasume walked calmly out. His shoulders above his head. He huffed.
"Kasume?"
The boy questioned. Although Kasume did not reply and only kept walking. He slipped his staff down his arm and approached closer to the boy.
"Not right now Kasume! Please!
Kasume stood in front of the sitting boy. Fear written. Kasume looked down at him in the darkness. The fire was dying and little could be seen with the moon's light. Kasume threw his arm up. The boy threw back his head and held to his mouth. Cleaning the small amounts of blood. The boy kept his eyes on Kasume at the same moment though. Never letting it off.
"Ka..."
Kasume threw his arm up again, making the boy throw his head back and the boy laid in the sand. Closing his eyes. Kasume took a step back. Realizing the situation and staring at the boy. For what seemed of an eternity.
"Get the boat back on the water. This land shows no value boy..."

They swayed in the ocean, him and the boy. The currents light and the sun shining a gaze on them. Kasume looked up in exhaustion. He eyes drifted into the sky. The salty smell, tingled his nose; as he was not used to it.
The boy sat calmly looking at the large man staring.
"Kasu..."
Kasume flashed a look at the boy and waited for a response. The boy widened his eyes and jumped himself back a bit. Kasume then began staring at the boy. The boy squinted his eyes in fear of being hit again. Kasume then stood as the boat tipped and tossed. The boy then drew fear again and looked around at the rocking boat. Taking his arms to the sides to keep it steady.
Kasume lifted his hands and grabbed the boy's head, as the boy yelped. Shaking his head furiously he threw the boy into the water. The boy gasped and pleaded as he waved his arms and Kasume looked down staring at the boy. The boy grabbed onto the boat and Kasume lifted his foot, pouding it on the boy's fingers. The boat jerked forward and Kasume raised a brow looking behind himself; noticing that balance was greatly loss. Quickly he sat down to even it and the boy struggled once more to climb back on the boat. Kasume than grabbed his staff from under the bench boards and flung it towards the boy, knocking the boy out and forcing him to fling his hands up.
Kasume hunched in the boat as it drifted. Planning his next move. Killing the boy, such the ignorance he held. Such the annoyance he was. He wished he had left him to rot on the island in the first place...
