JAB design is impressed with your programming but not with you game control. I have played your game and it lacks realism! I will happily write on my web site that your program ‘sucks!’ you can program but your not at the level of online game control. One-day maybe, but at this time your control over the online game is pitiful. To think you have a team, programmers, artist and developers, and you can even produce a realistic game! I work solo and all my games rock. If I had the tools you had I would put you to shame. Oh, my player called, Sir crystal star… Feel free to delete me, cuss, I don’t think I will play any more? I don’t think your going to improve.

Actually, I think it is very realistic with an excellent background story. Many people share my opinion.
@Game Programmers (others too):
You did a great job. Thanks.

Right? You just said it was an opinion! There is no right or wrong on that! Unless your opinion is unqualified, like yours.
@Bror:
You should open a poll to see how many people like the game and storyline, etc. I am sure about 95% (or more) like it very much.

hi sir crystal
there's nothing to say against criticism: it's necessary and it helps improving things. but to do so, it should contain some more specific information than it was the case in your posting.
i even think that i don't understand your point. you criticise the game controll, which, to be honest, isn't really very good (i don't like it either). you get used to it after some time, but it isn't really intuitive enough, but that's not the main point at this stadium of development of the game, there are much more things to do which seem really more important to me. however, it would have been very enlightning for us to read something about very specific problems concerning the game controll (e.g. you might think that pressing the shift-key all the time is annoying or something)
the other reason for your critics is realism. well, this is, or it claims to be
, a fantasy-RPG. there are different humanoid races which do not exist in reality, there are several monsters, magic etc, which do not exist in the world we are used too. further, there have to be some simplifications. take for example the production of smithed items: you use a shovel with the ground, get ore and coal, use a hammer with it and smith something. that's a drastic simplification of real-life-smithing, but it is necessary AND you won't see something more realistic even in professional games such as ultima online.
i just guessed what you meant with "game controll" and "realism", since you didn't seem to be able/mature enough to tell what you mean.
maybe you even misunderstood the background of illarion. it is developed by some students of computer science in their free time with the help of some others, who e.g. paint some tiny graphics in their free time (like me). these people aren't professionals, we are physicists, chemists, ... whatever, illarion is just a little hobby and not our job. of course it's far from perfect and of course not everyone likes it. (i for myself don't even like most graphics, even if i painted them myself...). there isn't a real team of programmers who only work for illarion -- in fact, at the moment there is noone who works on the server (and it's like that for weeks/month now) etc.
you are free to have an opinion, you are free to tell us your opinion, but please note that we will judge you by what you say and how you say it. i tried to stay friendly (in contrary to your statement), but to be honest: i didn't like your posting and i think i don't like you. the reasons are:
* you tell others that what they say is "their opinion" whereas you post *your* opinion as if it was a fact.
* you don't speak for yourself but for "JAB design". (next time when i give a comment on illarion i'll write "the technical university of vienna isn't impressed by your BLABLA" rather than pointing out that it's simply *my* point of view)
* "sucks!"
* lack of constructive criticism/proposals/examples of what you think is wrong in detail
* "I work solo and all my games rock." (no comment on that...)
* "If I had the tools you had I would put you to shame."
we note, that you are superman and we are unworthy losers.
