you have good causes of thought, stay with them. my own opinion is, don't neglect the other stats just because you think they are not good for a mage. try to have average or character and job like stats. and give the stats you think which are important (and as i said you have a good starts with your thought) very good points.
A very good question, for the Newbie Board.

How does your character look like ?
Distribute the points because of that , not because of what his "job" is going to be.
Is he smart or almost brain dead ?
Is he strong or weak like a leaf in the wind ?
Can his mind adapt the world arround him, or will he never gain insight?
Thats the question you should ask yourself not:
I am big strong mage, what are my attributes ?
Imagine your character, his life, how his life fromed his body and mind.
This will give you the answers.

let us think logical
perception: well, you ARE throwing fireballs and icebolts. would be good to hit the right target.
Agility: there is no moving when you speak spells. but it would be good for a weak mage to run FAST away when his spells dont' work well. but why should an old mage be agile? or a young mage who lived his whole life behind books?
dexterity: well, would be good to avoid cuts in your finger when you brows through magic books
. well. the most mages are clumsy. in my opinion *G*
essence: Well, is your mage full of life? or is he just a mage who can cast on others well but is lost when someone cast on him? was he the leader in his childhood? or just the guy who walked around with others 10 feets behind them? you know, the little guy with eyeglasses and which one everyone likes to push around.
Is he someone others look at and are impressed by him or someone everyone oversee and ignores?
a high essence means the good things

Ragor,
I still belive the link I gave you answers all the question.
Nobody will give you answers how the exact game mechanics are.
Shape your attributs after your character, not your profession.
You said your character is clever.
So you know that his mind ablities surpass his physical abilities.
You do know that a value of 10 is averange.
Now just set your attributes as you just said it.

If the title is in the title field, then they are allowed. But this titles haven't a sense in game.
But you can use the !prefix and !suffix command to give you titles while you playing. Please don't use them to often, because this is confusing, if somone changes his title every day.
In the name field, by the character creation, should only be the name. No title ore something similar.

I don´t care if the title have some sense, but i thought a knight should have a title. I wanted to have "Knight" as title, but I don´t really know if thats good, so i chosed "Lord". I don´t really know how you take it, but I think "Steelblade" should be a good surname. Steelblade may have a meaning, but I don´t think humans surname don´t can have a meaning.
Can human have that? In reality, human has it. In a fantasyworld, it is even a bigger chancem to find one that have it. So in my option, Ragor Steelblade would fit as a name. (In Dragonlance, some people, like Tasslehoff or Steel, have their firstname and their second name as one or mor words. I am sorry that it is no kenders in this world...)

People don't respect your want to RP a knight correctly. That's the problem.Ragor wrote:Kasume: Why shouldn´t I be a knight?
It is sure a good RP character, but maybie bad in Fights.
Knight doesn´t want to fight.
@Athian
It's not my fault you take everything as a direct insult to you... Alora is a good friend of mine and Galim is pretty cool too. Nilo is, eh eh not really friends but I don't mind him. And Veralion I don't even know much. Vera is probably just playing his character really well.

anyway...Rping a knight can be pretty hard, one not all will recognize you as i knight even though you play one, another thing is the system of laws the towns in game have, which may effect your own knights 'code' or the way you choose to conduct yourself. EX: fighting in town could get you thrown out regardless of 'honor'. if you really want to do something with a knight like character maybe joining one of the guilds and gaining the title of knight might work for you. it's just a thought of course.

oh, and thanks for the cool

well, its okay to play a knight with that stats. not every knight was a damn good fighter. there are even that ones who will lose fights. or are just foot troops.
