Post by Percival »

I were looking through screen shoots and on one of them theres a fight, and one player makes preety long description during it, is it possible to do such long descriptions during fight? i mean doesn't fight needs so much of your attention that you're not able to do such descriptions coause their equal with suicide?

Yeah, some fights can be abrupt where you cannot use any #mes unless you have a huge deathwish, or unless the other player is willing to roleplay into it with you. But the new fighting system makes the fights a bit longer now so you can descibe what your character is doing without dieing in the process.

depents on which weapon you use. woth twohanded weapons you will have time for two or three #mes to descripe your fight. with one handed, you will have time to describe, go on the toilet and wash the dishes while you hum a nice song.

Since this is about fighting... Is there any advantage to wearing light armor such as hunting armor? I have Taylor wearing it so he can be quick and it is his roleplay as an archer, he would need to be able to move quickly to shot his arrows without being clobbered. But is there anything in game concerning lighter armors an advantage to heavy combersome armors?

ps- What do you guys think of the new avatar?

I think I know at least that heavy armor such as plate armor seems to be a heavier weight to carry around as opposed to lighter weight chain or leather armor. This probably effects how much else you can carry, perhaps how much more easily you can be encumbered, but besides that I'm not certain as to what it might specifically effect for technical ingame fighting :? .

The avatar is Dart from Legend of Dragoon for PSX, if I'm not mistaken.

What you wear depends on what you fight.

If you're going hunting for animals, wear hunting or leather armor. Hunting requires endurance for those long walks, and they won't swing a weapon at you, so you don't have to worry too much about the protection value above that.

But if you're planning to fight another creature like yourself, who has the ability to swing a weapon, parry, and defend himself/herself properly, you NEED to go with the metal or you can kiss your ass goodbye. There is the argument that the heavier the armor is, the slower your man will move.

But come on people. It's not like armor clad fighters move in slow motion, they can still swing the weapon relatively fast enough for you to not be able to defend yourself.

And it will hurt.

So no matter what you are, archer, melee, whatever, remember that leather is for hunters and brigands. People who actually fight other people should wear metal.

My lizard wears hunting armor and I don't see much difference in attacking as my human did in plate. Though my lizard is carring a bis ass war axe so...

Two handed weapon fights go quick, but they are right, a few #me's can be put in there, unless your totally outmatched. If you know the battle is going to be quick, then make up for it by putting a lot of details right before the fight begins

It's not like you have to type #me unsheathes the blade, holds it in front of his face and thrusts it in the direction of the agressor shouting "don't touch me damn lederhossen!"

A simple #me strikes should do.

You can eat my brains, but you'll never get this.
