Ranger Guild

Post by Astral »

News and Announcements:

- A new Master Ranger quest has been added, also worth 5 authority.

- The Elite Ranger quest requires two of the master level ranks to attempt.

- High Council members will now have an authority of 45 because of the addition of the new test.

- An authority of 35 is required to be eligable for High Council.

~~~~~~~
The picture never worked for me, so I guess I'll have to see it later.  About the historian thing, I think that it would be alright, but if people think it is necessary, then we could do the observation thing for a while.  This would be the first time to use the authority system for a vote, and there will be 3 categories.  Either vote "no", "with observation", or "yes".  If we get an authority value of 25 or higher for with observation and the "yes" outcounts the "no", then an observation period will ensue.  If "no" outcounts "yes", then the answer is no.  The votes for "with observation" will not be counted in the "yes" vs "no" vote, only afterwards if "yes" wins.
My vote is for "yes".
So with a total of two votes (assuming Roke's is "no"), the standings are:
45 - "yes"
10 - "no"
@Roke:
The +1 authority has been added to your total.
Would it be possible to have the amount of authority points aquired beside the quests on the quest part of the website?  I hate to be picky but I would like to know.
Exoru has attained the title of Master Warrior!.
Also, our current guild fund totals 167 Silver ingots. I hope more people come up with plans for a guild house!
I will now make my vote! I vote "with observation"
That brings the vote to...
45 "Yes"
45 "With observation"
10 "No"
I like the guild house but I don't think it needs to be that big. Try removing two tiles from the the langth of it.
Also I would like to say that Safun is now a Master Warrior!
I personaly believe that the vote on mannelig joining the rangers is moot because he is planning to leave soon.  Also Astral could you update the low speed website.  Although I have high speed internet my computer is struggling with the music and your animations.  Thanks
Several things to be wary of. There is an extortionist roaming the streets, he claims to be a tax collector and will attempt to kill anyone who does not pay him. Another note worthy thing would be reports of rot worms and demons near the mana well. I have not seen these monsters myself so it may be a hoax.
I have seen the demons and rot worms down as far as the holy cross...so it is no hoax...could it be a bad omen that these beasts are roaming so close to town..?
Thanks Brendan, I will check this out myself... Also Astral and inioch, you need to talk to Korwin about some disturbing news. I only heard part of it. I have an idea for the Rangers also, an alert status where 1 is extreme danger and *gulp* war and 5 is peace or something like that. If any of the high council wnat me to create this system let me know. Thanks again, fellow Rangers. Also, If anything unusual happens please tell either Astral, Inioch Hope or Korwin. Finally that elf is dangerous, he is as good of mage as I used to be... I suggest that if you see him, you leave the area immediatly (p.s. he uses a wand I believe)
Warning to all Rangers:
When walking through town be on hightened alert and wear full armou and two shields... Reda, a kind elf was killed by 108xx,Azoreafor saying things about her friends. Also a human, tienos ( 107xx (10768 I believe but am not sure)) killed an innocent hobbit and threatened Reda. He attacked myself because I stood next to him. Luckily, Quain helped me and with our code phrase paralyzed him while I punched this human to prevent my death and the death of others. Thanks you.
If Astral reads this he should look at the topic on the main board about guild pages...
I have read that thing on the main board, but I'm not sure if I can write an adequate description of the guild, so I thought I'd post it here first so Alatar doesn't have to edit it too many times.
The Rangers are a guild that was formed to protect Illarion and the people that live in it. We try to keep the peace by resolving conflicts and staying neutral in wars unless we have no other choice. We are a group of all races and occupations, from warriors to blacksmiths whose goal is to help the community. If you believe that you can help the Rangers, please look here to see if you have what is required. Enjoy your stay!
Yes, it's a bit shorter than the suggested 140 words, so anything you think should be added, please post it.
IT is also a description for the website so perhaps you could add what can be found on the website, that should bring it up to about 100 words.
On another note I propose we have a Ranger Rally or something of a similar name to get funds for the Rangers. We only have 200 ingots while some younger guilds have over 400. If everyone gave a sizeable contribution we could probably increase it by 100, if almost all members donate. It is just an idea, I would like some feedback.
Alright, here is the final product:
The Rangers are a guild that was formed to protect Illarion and the people that live in it. We try to keep the peace by resolving conflicts and staying neutral in wars unless we have no other choice. We are a group of all races and occupations, from warriors to blacksmiths whose goal is to help the community. If you think that you want to join the Rangers, you can find all the information about us on this website. You can also view the quests and even read some of the stories made by Rangers if you are new or just want to look around. Enjoy your stay!
I think we could make our fund quite alot larger if somemore people donated. I can only remember about 7 of the members ever donating anything.
