Pretty thin I think, at least at this current Moment.
It is planed, no doubt about this, that you can start with different (or no) Items. Maybe you can even pick them by yourself.
I would love to tell you when this will happen, but I cant.

@Grant Of course it is no secret that I don't powergame. But remember it is getting to be no secret that Grant is a sadistical liar who enjoys seeing people fight.
@Cain If you don't wish to be called a fool then don't tell people to "shut the hell up" and please don't lash out at people and make yourself the fool.

Hm, Elaralith, can you please point out to me when I was a "sadistical Liar"? I would love to know. And please don't ignore this as I will be posting it in every OOC thread you reply in until you answer.

oh, and will you also tell me when I was like this OOC-
@Grant You think being insulted is entertaining? Strange I recall you reacted quite violently the last time someone insulted you.

If this does happen the person should be able to pick which items they start with. A person should not have a career randomly thrown at them but they should pick which career they want to start in.

They should start with a small amount of gold to buy the start-off tools, like 50 gold or something.
I have a proposal on how to make blacksmiths more popular. Please, criticize at will.
Proposal 1.
I think that strong weapons and heavy armor should limit mages' ability to cast, because they absorb mana, right?.
Like, leather armor should not affect spells.
Chain mail should weaken ice cpells and paralyze spell.
Plate armor should disable paralyze spell and ice spells and weaken fire spells.
Greater amount of mana should be spent if heavy metal equipment is on.
Benefits:
This will make mages buy leather armor and weaker weapons from blacksmiths.
This will give melee warriors and close combat fighter a chance against mages in battle, since it will make mages weaker against them in combat.
Mages will have to choose whether to use armor in their fights or be able to spell.
This will stop the bad roleplaying mages who walk around in plate armor with 2 shieldsfor all weapons on and act like they are merely in a robe.
This could be a temporary solution before vocation system is completely implemented.
Proposal 2:
Why not make people whos parameters lack strength be unable to carry best items like war axes, heavy shields, heavy swords. That would get blacksmiths clientelle on the rest of the weapons. Weaker people will buy lesser and smaller weapons.
Sorry if I sound whiny, no offense to anyone intended.
With respect

Yes is planed, according to the Illarion HP.

Aye a logical consequence from the capacity overload of every character, but not new for the staff. So please wait.

I'd just like to say...
The depot in the smithy area was a good thing. It was good for meeting people and things. I was not very happy for awhile. Now I'm sorta glad it happend. I find myself in the workshop smithing more often. I'll admit, I never used the workshop very much.

platemail weaken foreattacks? why? i mean, you wear this many metal and somone throw a HOT fireball at it. i believe leather should protect its wearer better than metal for fireattacks.

That is not what I meant.
It would weaken the mage, the one who casts. If the wizard is wearing heavy armor, his fire will not be strong.

That area use to be the biggest gathering place for people, talking, trading, and whatever else. Now it is empty most of the time, the occassional gatherings happen in front of the shop, and it takes twice as long to find people in town
