My character is only on the highest end of fighting, but it seems right for him. I think there is a good balance between coins&loot value. Red skeletons have a good bit of money, but not much loot and none of it sellable generally. But regular skeletons have leather armor but few coins totalling lower than the red skeleton but still a good bit. Thats my take on it anyway. Rare drops pwn, keep up the good work.Estralis Seborian wrote:Question: What do you think about the amount of copper coins dropped by monsters? Too many? Not enough?
Please report: Monsterdrop

The problem was:
He stole 0 silver and 0 gold coins and dropped them. What you saw was a "stack" of 0 coins. I repaired that: They don't drop 0-stacks anymore

Is that bad? Sure, mummies don't eat alot. I thought about typical burial objects and came up with the idea that many cultures used to place food in graves in case the body needs this in the afterlife or... erm... was buried alife.
It is hard to find suiting non-weapon-non-armor-stuff for all monsters. In addition, only every 100th mummy drops a plate afaik.
Question: What do you think about the amount of copper coins dropped by monsters? Too many? Not enough?
Ahh, true enough. That makes sense now that you mention it. I guess what threw me off is that it looks like something brand new, unlike what something buried with a corpse might or might not look like.

Accualy, this gives me an idea.
There should be a.. say a 1 in a 500 monster that drops a wierd item. The item it's self is a random number that gives it a wide veriety of items that it can be.
For instance, say that you put an item that makes a number for "Human Monster Random" that can be a random item that the rest don't drop. This can be.. a lucky pair of shoes to a midday snack, as Donal put it. Or say.. "Undead Monsters" - They can drop anything from a rare "Curse" throwing potion to a set of ancient cutlery.
A break down of it:
Zombie = 500th
Drop = Guts, Woodcutter's Axe, X
X = Ancient Pottery, Poison Throwing Potion, Buried Cat

Im not saying it's all they should drop, or that what they wear should be based on what they can drop. But they syhould just about always drop their equipment as well as the other stuff. I mean, wasn't the whole point of monster drops in illarion to be realistic? I dont want it to be like so many othergames where a monster attacks you weearing good armor which happens to be glued to their chests.....Gro'bul wrote:I guess you'd prefer to keep getting crappy loot then? This way, we got harder monsters but not 1-hit kill monsters because their armor and weapon are too good. This way people don't write powerful undead off as a nuisance. Also, rare drops pwn.falco1029 wrote:that's quite stupid....

i said the monster drops, not illarion as a whole...Estralis Seborian wrote:No. Illarion is not realistic at all. The monster drop is ment as reward when you slay a monster. But in general, the items a monster drops should suit it.falco1029 wrote:wasn't the whole point of monster drops in illarion to be realistic?

This happens when somebody changes a simple long sword to a dull elven swordGro'bul wrote:Dull Elvensword dropped by normal skeletons in the mummy temple. Problem isn't the location, dull elvensword is an obsolete item not even a weapon, just a graphic with a name.

I think that the normal white skellys could maybe drop a little more copper. It seems like a lot of the time the total value of items gotten from mummies will be about the same as from skeletons and since skeletons are so much harder I would think their drop values might be a little higher. I havent killed that many skellys though so maybe I just got unlucky.Question: What do you think about the amount of copper coins dropped by monsters? Too many? Not enough?
