@lrmy: Without a little respect in front of our gms you are playing the wrong game. Sorry.
When I am called names over MSN by some one that looses their temper over a game, I tend to loose respect for them. I have some more respect for him now than then because he and I both calmed down some.
With that I will log in game

see you all there.[/quote]
w-w-wait.. i did what? i called you names via msn?
like? insultings?
thats a lie. If i would have the intention to use cusswords on you, and i mean seriously, i wouldn't have mind to do it via the forum all on public.
so you better haven't meant me, cause even if i just calmed, you made me upset.

I only read the first page of this thread, as I suspected the other 4 are come backs at insults. But I will reply to the first page.
I agree with Nitram. He has the right vision of equality. That's how I GM in the game I run.
I met Dain on a few occasions, he brings different things to different people - joy to some, tingly sensation to others, fear to many, and plain lack of desire to login to some yet.
Dain reminds me of Karmane, if Karmane ever had a guard badge. I can understand his feelings because I have walked his path.
And I am not sure how many people are still around who even remember what happened to Karmane. He used every opportunity he had to get a fight going simply to make sure that he is still the best. He never once lost a fight because it would be fun to lose. He never left town when asked.
It doesnt mean I was not a good roleplayer. I roleplayed him well, posted an insanely long backstory of Konstantin, and I made him a very sophisticated individual psychologically. But the fact stayed a fact. He was eventually hated by the majority, and hence, destroyed.
Any bad guy who fails a test of being subtle, will fall.
Elaralith fell. Darlok fell. Muten fell. Karmane fell. The way it's going currently, Dain will fall. Even if he massacres every man on the island single handedly. The GMs will simply roleplay a thunderbolt falling from the sky into his chest, after he is tired and sweaty from battle.
@Dain: Man, I know what you feel about GM-favoritism, and OOC issues. I know how it may burn you inside, make you feel powerless, like you cannot influence anything without it being some kind of quest. I felt the same way, but here is the real truth: the GMs really don't think in those terms, they don't care. Their job is not to look out after realistic justice for the individual. Their job is to ensure happiness of the majority of players. They don't care if fate is unfair to one single villain, even if he is logically stronger, faster, and more skilled than 100 farmers and all wall archers taken together. Illarion needs player traffic for the game to live on. If, one day, the majority gets too intimidated by the Temple that they stop logging in, and the number of people who stay logged out because of them exceed the number of people who log in, you will be over with. Your best hope is that this day never comes. So plan accordingly.

Hmm... everyone has a lot to say. I'm just gonna pick out this one thing.
Korm Kormsen wrote:Fianna,
how would you love it, to get robbed thrice by the same char, just to learn, that he never took the effort, to even remember his victims
Erm...happened to me too. He's gonna remember her now.
But seriously, it would be much better style to !name the victims and keep track in some way. Fianna was robbed twice by the same robber in a couple of days. I don't mind that and enjoyed the rp of the moment and what developed because of it, but it does seem pretty unlikely that a 'professional' thief would rob the same person repeatedly.
I still think the tension of a 'bad' undercurrent adds excitement to the game. I think the 'bad' characters are well played when they are concentrating, just like the 'good' characters. Everyone has the opportunity to decide how they will respond to the ig situation. Fianna has been held up at knife point and she has been pickpocketed...both repeatedly. I really just don't think it's that big a deal.

Its not possible that you both act like adults ?
What gives you both the right to post da shit here ?
and btw .. i still think a Gm have to be more calm and neutral !
Okay.. I have the feeling to quit the game !

And this is exactly where you are wrong, you put people into the wrong shelves with other people, Darlok was always sure that he could be defeated hell we walked up there with ten men or something as long as I remember, but there was never this "Oh man I don't want to meet him, he will cloud me anyway" feeling to it, the temple simply kills if they like, without reason for the most part, as many people here reported, darlok never killed uselessly, he might have killed people, who annoyed him, but as I saw him playing I never saw him running around killing everyone for the simple fact that he could.
