There is a problem with fist fighting, its very very slower than it should, and we always miss when striking with fists...maybe its my low skill, but its still to slow.

fist fighing is strong if you have the right attributes and skill for it. a mummie using fists is stronger than one using daggers.

Was that the guy yesterday that walked in on my lovely conversation yesterday and decided to uppercut a pig?

That was teh eww.
Anyhow, new fighting system is freaky from my point of view. You actually have to watch where you are going now.

Hmm, I think weapons decompose just a little bit too quickly...Helmets and armor last for very long now...

A quite good brand new battle staff lasts me one trip to the crypt. and for fist figthing, i dont think any stats makes hits faster...

auto ending of the combat mode happens to me too, but sometimes, when I right click my depot to get the menu, the menu will auto close too, and it will do it like 5-10 times in a row.

Whats your dexterity and whats yourt strength?

my dexterity is something like 12, strength is 18. i really doubt Dexterity affects this much.

Mmhh, the "wrestling" skill (stupid name, btw

) behaves a little bit strange. I fought against Salathe (low wrestling skill; I don't have it) and he seems to dodge almost every of my attacks - I only damaged him when attacking his back. On the other hand I only parry some of his attacks but get effectively no real damage. I think that Salathe is a tough guy so he should make more damage (from his strength), even with low wrestling skill. (And he leveled twice, and I none.)
And a bug: My attacking symbol - fists - was not visible.

by Arameh
Yeah attack simbol is not visible with humans, strangely. And i think wresling needs to be faster, the hits are slow, and weak. I think it could at least be faster and have more chance to hit, since its not easy to parry a punch, since the other guy needs to be very close, jus my advice.
Whats your dexterity and whats yourt strength?
Well, 16 strenght and 10 dex, but other weapons seems fine, i think only staves breaks very quickly.

Staffs are wood. they are not as strong as metal weapons. and your dex is average. your strength high. your char bashes more with his weapon, than swinging it with much dexterity. so no wonder the weapon suffers more under it

A staff is alomost as much damage if not the same as a hammer. And it parries much better.
Some tell me Gort does more with a staff than hammer. Just thought I might say somthing.

What is Staff under? Is it slashing or concusion?

Consider your hammer is probobly a peice of crap, and your staff quite well crafted.
Hammer does more damage (theoretically) than the equal quality of any staff, but, take into account its slower. So if you miss your dps is going to go down more than a staff. Where you hit someone or something makes a big difference in how much damage you can do. Helmets, gloves, leggings, and boots don't have as much protection as better body armors.

Parrying (=use of shield and weapons to parry blows of your opponent) will now be changed.
Please comment on it.

What exactly has been changed at parry, if I am allowed to ask?

Shields/Weapons nearly had no influence on parrying, meaning that you parried much too much when you had no equipment at all (now you won't parry anything without a shield or a weapon).
That also means that monsters not using shields or weapons won't parry any longer, making them easier to kill.
However, that also means that those using a shield and a weapon will eventually parry more than before.

Sounds good to me.
I will have a look later. My character only ever used onehanded swords and shields anyway

two handed weapons seemed odd to me. my character uses a staff as has pretty good parry skill yet he doesn't seem to parry at all anymore. just fighting mummies i got hit nine out of ten times if not a bit more.

Well it should be easier to parrywith a staff I think, but after the update it seemed like any other weapons.

I can't parry anymore with two daggers...not even against mummies. and i have high parry!

seems it's a bit unbalanced now. mind you there are still players and monsters that could kill you with three connected hits, so where before you parried now your three times more likily to be struck in a row, before you parry regardless of the skill level.

The difference between short+shield and two handed weapon is far too much in my opinion. With two handed sword I get hit every time, but I m able to parry everything when using a shield. Reminds me of the very first fighting system, where everything besides firesword+knight shield was pointless...

also, being hit so much drops armor quality rediculously fast. the armor i got yesterday that was of good quality degraded very fast after 30 or so unapposed hits

I think the difference now is that people with small weapons have to rely on dodge rather then parry. It's just a matter of adjusting the fighting style.
I agree, armor rating drops quite quickly now. You don't even bother using worn armor because you would loose it in mid-fight. One armor a fight is a bit much. Warriors can hardly sustain their equipment this way.

Too bad that you don't get dodge easily, because you never dodge. and wearing light armor so that you can dodge will make you getting killed faster because they hit harder. So...for light weapons it sucks

true. it's almost impossible to raise your dodge skill and not your parry without it. however if you've already got fairly good parry and still get your butt handed to you, it's like raising a useless skill, all it would do is slow down your progress in dodge, only way aorund that would be to have a friend shoot arrows you, now remember kids, powergaming is bad.
