[The Grey Rose]

Höret, höret, Bürger Lyrenzias und Bewohner Troll´s Banes!

Der Hohe Zirkel der Grauen Rose gibt folgendes bekannt:

1. Die Graue Rose erneuert und bekräftigt hiermit ihren Anspruch als Schutzmacht von Troll’s Bane, getreu ihrer Codices und den Göttern zu Gefallen.

2. Die Graue Rose verurteilt das Handeln Darloks und macht ihn persönlich verantwortlich, über die gesamte Insel von Illarion Not und Elend in Form einer anhaltenden Dürre gebracht zu haben. In seiner Gier nach Macht hat sich Darlok mit Elementen der Finsternis verbündet und sich der schwarzen Magie, namentlich der Nekromantie zugewandt.
Da seine Macht auf solch unlöbliche Weise gewonnen wurde, erkennt die Graue Rose Darloks territoriale Ansprüche nicht an.

3. Lyrenzia wird hiermit dringend nahe gelegt, Anhänger und Unterstützer Darloks, sowie den Angehörigen des sich als „Bloodskulls“ bezeichnenden Ork-Clans und den Anhängern des „Movement“ die Bürgerrechte abzuerkennen und sie zu ächten und für vogelfrei zu erklären. Ihnen soll der künftige Aufenthalt innerhalb der Stadt Troll’s Bane unter Androhung von Haft- und Leibesstrafe untersagt sein. Falls Lyrenzia dem nicht nachkommt, wird es die Graue Rose als ihre von den Göttern gegebene Pflicht ansehen, diese Maßnahmen selbst durchzuführen.
Sollten oben Genannte zum Zwecke des Handels das Gebiet von Troll´s Bane betreten, behält sich die Graue Rose das Recht vor, die Waren bzw. das Gold dieses Schwarzhandels zu beschlagnahmen und dem Vermögen der Grauen Rose zuzuführen. Dieses Recht soll ebenso der zu bildenden Stadtwache gewährt werden.

4. Zur Durchführung dieser Maßnahmen und zur Eindämmung weiterer Straftaten unterstützt die Graue Rose ausdrücklich das Betreiben Lyrenzias, eine Stadtwache unter der Leitung von einigen vertrauenswürdigen Bürgern aufzubauen.

5. Angehörige des Ork-Clans, der sich „Blood Skulls“ nennt, stehen so lange unter Acht und Bann, bis sich deren Anführer öffentlich und vor den Göttern von Darlok lossagt. Zudem muss er gewährleisten, das Orke, die den „Blood Skulls“ angehören, keine Übergriffe auf Bürger der Stadt Troll´s Bane begehen und zudem die Rechte Lyrenzias innerhalb ihres Machtbereiches anerkennen.
Selbiges gilt für die Anhänger des sogennanten „Movement“.

Hear ye, hear ye! Citizen of Lyrenzia and inhabitants of Troll´s Bane!

The High Circle of the Grey Rose is announcing the following:

1. The Grey Rose is renewing and conforming their claim as a protection force of Troll´s Bane, according to their codices and to the honour of the gods.

2. The Grey Rose condemns the actions of Darlok and makes him personally responsible of bringing misery and suffering to the island of Illarion in form of an enduring drought. In his lust for power Darlok formed an alliance with some elements of darkness and turned himself to black magic, namely necromancy.
Because his power was gained in such a illaudable way, the Grey Rose refuses Darlok`s territorial claims.

3. The Grey Rose hereby urgently suggests Lyrenzia to take away citizen rights and to outlaw all followers and supporters of Darlok, the members of the orc clan called “Bloodskulls” and the followers of the “Movement”. They should not be allowed anymore to enter the town of Troll´s Bane, under threat of jail and physical punishment. If Lyrenzia should decline this, the Grey Rose will see it as their god given duty to carry out this measure even without support of Lyrenzia.
If these persons enter the territory of Troll´s Bane with the intention to perform a trade, the Grey Rose takes herself the right to confiscate the goods and money of this deal. The same right should be given to the future town guard.

4. To carry out these measures and to prevent further crimes, the Grey Rose strongly supports the intention of Lyrenzia to build a town guard lead by trustworthy citizens.

5. Members of the orc clan called “Bloodskulls” should be outlawed until their leader breaks with Darlok in public and with an oath to the gods. Furthermore he must guarantee that members of the orc clan called “Bloodskulls” will stop all encroachments upon the citizens of Troll´s Bane and that they are respecting the rights of Lyrenzia on Lyrenzian territory.
The same goes for the followers of the “Movement”.

Um der Proklamation einen ersten Stempel aufzudrücken, werden wir, die Druiden des Waldes , unsere langjährige Allianz mit den Bloodskulls hiermit auflösen.

Alleine schon ihr Handeln und das Beziehen der Ogerhöhle in der Nähe von Notherot lies uns zu unserem Handeln kommen.
Nachdem wir auch noch hörten,das die Skulls Darlok in seinen Handlungen beistanden, war das Fass übergelaufen.

Mit dem heutige Tage besteht keine Allianz mehr zwischen Druiden des Waldes und den Bloodskulls .

Nach einem gemütlichen Abend mit einigen Freunden kommt Andriel gemeinsam mit Dhalsim in die Stadt zurück. Vor Elizas Laden trifft Dhalsim einen Geschäftspartner und Andriel nutzt die Zeit um kurz die Neuigkeiten zu überfliegen. Als sie die Proklamation der Rose liest, entschlüpft ihr ein langer Seufzer und sie murmelt vor sich hin: "Das wird all unsere Möchtegernhelden aber freuen. Endlich wieder eine Gelegenheit den Mut zu beweisen und anonym eine Nachricht anzuheften. Wieviele Bürger wohl diesmal die Zivilcourage haben und namenlos ihre Meinung kundtun?"
Schließlich borgt sie sich von einem netten Menschen Feder und Tinte und verfasst einen kurzen Text:

Erlaubt, dass ich euch an einiges, das ihr selber in eurem unnachahmlichen Stil verfasst habt, erinnere:

Darlok ist streng, aber gerecht und darauf kommt es an

Meint ihr nicht, dass ihr euch selbst widersprecht? Schließlich verfügt auch Darlok als Alleinherrscher des Nordens über Leben und Tod. Und er ist dennoch gerecht? Nun, entweder ist Darlok ein edler Mann, der seinesgleichen selten findet. Dies kann ich persönlich jedoch aus mehreren, auf der Hand liegenden Gründen, nicht glauben. Oder aber euer Urteilsvermögen ist angegriffen und euer Geist verwirrt. Nun, lassen wir das, wir wollen ja nicht über Leute urteilen, die, da sie nicht zu ihrer Meinung stehen können, auch nicht die Möglichkeit haben, diese und sich selbst zu verteidigen.

Lyrentia is not a government, but many people expect it to be. What once was thought as a countermeasurement against criminals, now is being put into another role.

A hard question.
"Territories" were never necessary before, becausenoone threatened the freedom of the people before by making his own "Territory".

With this new force, Northerot, claiming an area for its own, with the intentions to grow, Lyrenzia now has the need to define where its laws must be active to protect the people.

I am not supporting the area of a city guard placed by lyrenzia. Well, sometimes it really seems that such a guard could be necessary. On the other hand, a guard could easily get out of grip, and become the opposite of what it was made for.
IF there will be a city guard, we will have the need to control it somehow, so it does not become an instrument of power and surpression.

You, the ones with power, have to understand the needs and problems of weaker citizens, and non-warriors. Not everyone is able to handle a weapon.
Please, don't put people in this position. They have to use both services - those that Northerot has to offer, and those that are in Troll's Bane, they need resources. Now they have to choose between the two, which will only bring more separation, because people are afraid.
If they are citizens of Northerot, Grey Rose will Hunt them, if they are citizens of Lyrenzia, Darlok's forces will.
It is not fair for plain people who don't really know where to go to really survive.

The Grey Rose has made an err de feux upon bringing their "God given rights" and has now declared martial law, making them the driving force of the city of trollsbane

Lyrenzia, can either support with its judicial system, or decline support, either is worthless now

To stop the Rose ,

peace must be made with Darlok and the Orcs

If the rose is not stopped, The Rose will use tactics to attack the kingdom of Northerot, and its alleys the Bloodskulls directly, or indirectly upon the following blatent threat

The Rose wrote:"They should not be allowed anymore to enter the town of Troll´s Bane, under threat of jail and physical punishment. If Lyrenzia should decline this, the Grey Rose will see it as their god given duty to carry out this measure even without support of Lyrenzia. "

If this war isent stopped in the midst of this ally race, this island, and its people, will be plunged into a civil war of which history has never seen.

Might I suggest the Grey Rose reconsiders this seemingly brash decision?

The island and those living on it now have a chance to taste the joy of happiness, with this terrible drought ending. Also, more than enough blood has been spilled on Darlok's account in demand to the making of Northerlot. The last thing the people need now is war mongering, we all need to enjoy a time of peace, and diplomacy if possible.

Alright, place the guard, but make the guard peacefully oriented, protective.
Make it work like the border custom. Make the guard collect the weapons from the approaching Northerot citizens.

What bad have Northerot citizens ever done in Troll's Bane?
Everyone already obeys the "No weapons in town" law.
I never saw that Northerot citizens violate this rule more often then anyone else.
In fact, most of the killing happens on the territory of Northerot.

Grey Rose is stating that they will attack followers of Darlok.
Why? Not all followers of Darlok chose to be followers because they agreed to it ideologically. Many of them were not given a choice.
"Become a citizen or be dead, or never cross the land."
Darlok created Northerot by force, remember yourself. People didn't make him the King. He made himself the King.

Will Grey Rose now punish anyone who was not good enough to oppose Darlok's power?
I killed as many of his worms as I could until I ran out of arrows, strength, and places to hide.
Lyrenzia wasn't there to protect me from the attack, so I had to myself.

When The Movement and other guards kept throwing me out of Northerot borders, Lyrenzia didn't help me kill Darlok's Guards, I had to fight them and kill myself, until I reached Grant Herion. When Grant Herion raised his wand against me, I was the one to take an ice bolt in my chest, not anyone from Lyrenzia.
Lyrenzia kept talking about freedom for all, and not recognizing anyone's borders, and I kept battling Grant, putting my daggers into him, and watching blood flow out of my own wounds.
Now, all of this would be daily fun for me, but I met a person that I cannot put in danger, I was given a tight choice, and had to become a citizen to get access to my necessarily needed resources. I may be bad, I may be good, but I cannot resist Darlok.

And now Grey Rose will punish ME? What have I done to them?
I never rose my dagger on a Grey Rose Knight. Knights are respected in my eyes. You will kill and imprison me now because I received clearance on the land they have no clearance on?
Why take it out on me? Go fight those who guard the land you want to walk on so freely.

I will not abandon Northerot because of this threat. In fact, I will stay away from people at all.

Ich kam von meinen reisen zurück nach Troll´s Bane und ging am Schwarzen brett vorbei um zusehen was es neues gab, ich lass das geschriebene von der Grauen Rose und den anderen.
Ich war sehr erstaunt als ich lass das die Graue Rose endlich etwas gegen diese gewalt innerhalb der Stadtmauern von Troll´s Bane zu tun vermag.

" Ehrenwerte Graue Rose, hiermit möchte ich, Toregon, eurem Vorhaben nur zustimmen, es wird zeit das gegen diese Gewalt etwas getan wird. Die Stadt hat schon lange genug unter der Tyrannei von Darlok und den Ork´s gelitten. Ich bin zwar noch nicht lange in der Stadt aber auch ich bemerke doch das die Bewohner leiden. Und noch etwas, Elvin wie könnt Ihr hinter Darlok stehen obwohl Ihr ein Elf seid, wollt Ihr denn nicht auch das die Natur endlich wieder so wird wie sie mal war? Wollt Ihr nicht auch das es endlich wieder friedlich in der Stadt zu geht? Ich bin der meinung das Ihr kein Elf seid wenn Ihr weiter hinter einem Tyrannen und seinem Gefolge steht. Ich schäme mich dafür und hoffe das Ihr wieder zuvernunft kommt, selbst manche Zwerge sind mehr elf als Ihr. Bitte nicht falsch verstehen, Ehrenwerte Zwerge es soll keine beleidigung sein. "

Nach dem ich etwas dazu geschrieben hatte ging ich wieder um meine liebste zu finden.

Als sich in den frühen Morgenstunden die Strassen langsam wieder mit Leben füllen, hängt eine weitere kurze Nachricht am Brett. Das Pergament scheint schon älter zu sein, an manchen stellen beginnt es bereits zu vergilben. Im Gegensatz dazu stehen die geschwungenen und deutlichen Letter, in denen ein einzelner Satz verfasst wurde:

Zerbus was walking impatiently up and down the corridor of Northerot Castle. He had just finished a letter and was waiting for his servant, a svirfneblin (deep gnome), to take the orders of the day.

As if out of nowhere his servant appears at Zerbus' back. Within the blink of an eye Zerbus turns around and faces his servant, swearing to himself. Not saying anything, he gives his commands using the drow language of hands and tells his servant exactly what he has to do. "Dismissed" are the only words, one could have possibly heard.



To the Grey Rose, the Citizen of Troll's Bane and the Citizen of Northerot!

The following statements I do on my own behalf, not in the interest of any of the above mentioned "parties":

Since the Grey Rose wishes to be in state of war with the Northerot kingdom and declares war on Northerot citizen and Northerot allies I see myself forced to some unpleasant action.


Each attack by any member of the Grey Rose on my person, successful or not, will be answered by me with the killing of one innocent citizen of Troll's Bane.

Each attack by any member of the Grey Rose on a citizen of Northerot, succesful or not, will be answered by me with the killing of two innocent citizen of Troll's Bane.

Each attack by any member of the Grey Rose on an ally of the kingdom of Northerot, succesful or not, will be answered by me with the killing of three innocent citizen of Troll's Bane.


I do not think that it is in the interest of any of the above mentioned parties, that I am forced into a killing spree.

Carahawen kommt ans Brett und wühlt sich durch den Zettelhaufen. Sie liest die Proklamation Der Grauen Rose noch einmal durch, steht dann da und überlegt. Schliesslich sucht sie sich einen leeren Zettel und schreibt in sauberer, schwungvoller Schrift:

Werte Ritter der Grauen Rose!

Euer Vorhaben ist sicherlich ehrenwert und gut gemeint. (Mit dem meisten stimme ich auch überein.) Dennoch hat es einen kleinen Schönheitsfehler:
Habe ich es richtig verstanden, dass ihr ALLE Bürger von Northerot als vogelfrei erklärt habt? Denn wenn ja seit ihr hinter vielen unschuldigen, ja ehrenwerten Personen her. Viele von ihnen wurden gezwungen Bürger Northerots zu werden - sie hatten keine Wahl. Und nun sollen sie dafür bestraft werden? Nein, das - und ich gehe davon aus das Die Graue Rose danach strebt - ist sicherlich keine Gerechtigkeit. Ich bin mir sicher die Ritter der Grauen Rose haben/hatten auch Freunde unter denen, die sie nun vefolgen. Wenden sie sich nun gegen ihre Freunde? Wie kann das angehen?

Falls ich mich jedoch irren sollte, und nur die wirklichen Anhänger und Unterstützer Darloks gemeint sind, kann ich dem nur zustimmen. Dennoch solltet ihr dann eure Proklamation etwas klarer verfassen, damit niemand etwas falsch versteht.

Ich glaube nicht, dass wir so etwas gesagt haben. Die Proklamation bezieht sich auf Anhänger Darloks, des Movements und die Bloodskulls.
