Halfling Roleplay?
Moderator: Gamemasters
@Grant - I took the liberty of editing the message just a little bit before you mentioned that point, as I thought about it myself.
But when you're four feet tall, monsters would be a lot larger and it would take a lot more effort to take down such creatures.
@Hone - It is an in game problem that the drought affected the halflings very harshly, true. But the GMs don't seek to make the detriments of the races in a drought equal for everybody. If you don't want to be limited, don't play a halfling at this time.

Grant, suffice it to say that you never cease to amaze me with your childishness and immaturity.Grant Herion wrote:Elaralith, let the hobbits roleplay how they want. Hobbits are easily the hardest character to roleplay because everyone complains when you don't fit the typical hobbit. So please Elaralith, don't tell ANYONE how to roleplay their character.
Let us all look at the beginning of this thread started by Grant. Grant started this topic to complain about the roleplay of hobbits. Grant now contradicts himself and makes himself a hypocrite.
Grant noone was complaining about the roleplay of hobbits till you started this thread with your complaining. So please Grant, don't tell ANYONE what they can say or not say.
Insults directed toward players is forbidden, as stated by the forum rules.Elaralith wrote:Grant, suffice it to say that you never cease to amaze me with your childishness and immaturity.
If you look at the first post, it was created quite some time ago. I don't think he is a hypocrite, because his views about halfling roleplay might've changed over time. A 16 year old wouldn't believe in Santa Clause as he did when he was 7.Elaralith wrote:Let us all look at the beginning of this thread started by Grant. I was always complaining about their roleplay, actually.Elaralith wrote:Grant noone was complaining about the roleplay of hobbits till you started this thread with your complaining. So please Grant, don't tell ANYONE what they can say or not say.
Likewise elaralith, your entire post has nothing to do with this topic.
Anyhow, I agree with klith, halflings can roleplay smaller knight armor if they want, but smaller weapons would mean less damage, so they should use a shortsword instead of a firesword if they are going to use their smaller shield, which should not be a knight shield because of the fact it's too heavy with their smaller plate armor.

Hobby? No, unfortunately, the rest of the week is dedicated to physical training, school, work, and babysitting, not Illarion time.Elaralith wrote:@Klath
Thank you for analyzing my post down to the last period. I am sure this must be a very fun hobby of yours. Thank you, but I don't need you to remind me of the forum rules as I have broken none. Please keep your analyzations to yourself if you please.
The forum rules clearly state you can't insult players. You have just called a player immature and childish. Therefore, you have broken a rule. What's so difficult about that simple math?Elaralith wrote:...with your childness and immaturity...

Elaralith, please don't insult me. And yes, my views have changed since i first started this game. You see I realized that I wouldn't like it if someone told me how to roleplay Grant or any other character like I have. And I can admit I was wrong when I was first started this game (who didn't roleplay poorly when they first started this game?).
Also, Elaralith, like I said, don't tell people how to roleplay, that right is reserved for the GMs alone. You can argue about it, but you cannot tell me how to roleplay Grant and you cannot tell these hobbits how to roleplay their character.

you want to talk about roleplay? This drought would have killed every last person on the isle. The only food is pigs. Theres no wood to cook the meat. The meat would spoil, and cause sickness which would speard like wildfire. And the pigs supply would oventually run out at the rate were killing them. And according to the time set (each illarion day is 3 hours) this drought has lasted nearly four years.
Many people walk around allways wearing full armor. this would get extremly hot and heavy. It would probably cause heat stroke due to this drought.
Loads of dwarfs use magic, and use it often. Orcs are too friendly. Elfs Bah theres almost no good elf roleplayers. Theres elf Mercenarys for crips sake!
Dont complain about only halflings, theres loads of otherthings. although theres a few bad rolplaying halfling there are many that arent. look at all the halflings that arent evil demon killing mages.you look at one hafling and assume there all like that.

people (espacially humans) duel way too much, and completly wrong. I heard someone once saw "ok now take off your sheild and hit me with a rusty dagger" Take of sheild? you could easily just not block with them. Hit me with a rusty dagger? from my interpretation that means "Hey stab me with that old dagger." First off stabing someone would cause extreme pain. and A rusty dagger would cause many sicknesses. They adore all life and kill only in an urgency.

accually hitting someone with armor hurts, but doesn't cut them, what do you think the point of chain mail is? certainly not taking blows. And accually some people have wood and stores of grain which would not spoil and cooked hams. These people can bake bread and cakes if need be. If an elf doesn't value his life that much I don't see why he can't be, just for the experience and rush of battle. There is always ooc interference on some level raffa, but there are alot of things the player can control.
