The attack bug

its not an exploitable bug for first.

but the thing is, when i try to control click on flies, then nothing happens. i often end up attacking myself by mistake. isnt there any way i can stop that?
is there a reason why i cant get into attack mode with flies? it works fine with humans and pigs though..

It's probably your aim that is a bit off. Flys sometimes look as if they are on a different square to what they are. Try one square to either side of where you think they are.

Somewhere in the boards you can find a "bugfix" for this one, it was done by martin. Ah, here it is:

Ahm, I do not know if this is for the current client, so better do a backup before testing it.

Several times i've had a different sort of problem with attacking. Sometimes when attacking a skeleton i press control then click on the skeleton but the attack mode only stays for a second or so. Then i have to keep clicking on it and it won't stay in attack mode long.

yes, usually this happens when your ctrl-clicking a "copy". I can't lock onto people when I am on the second floor of a building looking down either.

It still might have to do with the graphics copy bug. It usually vanishes after some time and when you lure the monster away from the respawn points.

It's a bit frustrating, but all you have to do is cntrl+drag yourself and the sprites disappear, and you can attack the creature again.
