I wasn´t online for 5 days now, and reading the RP-board is really a pain. One thread after the other praises the different goods one could sell, and that is happening in a period of drought.
Looks like the economy of Illarion is prospering even in times of short supplies. Why are all these players selling their goods on the RP-board and not ingame? The GM´s created a market place for us, but it doesn´t find any users, every deal is sealed on the boards.
It would be so much funnier if you´d sell your goods on the market place. Why don´t you tell the people the time when your characters are online so there could be an auction ingame? Not enough buyers? Well, that is life in a medieval society. Ebay-like auctions show a lack of understanding of what was reality in medieval villages and are also poor RP.
Announce your auction on the RP-board, but play it ingame!
@Administrators: Maybe there should be a Auction-board?

Just skip over the subjects that you do not want to read and only read the ones that interest you. If it says something like "auction" "selling" or something like that then don't read the post. simple.Cuderon wrote:I wasn´t online for 5 days now, and reading the RP-board is really a pain. What would be the difference in posting the actual auction on the boards or posting a message saying when and where the auction would be? Unfortunately we have to deal with real life situations and different time zones. A time which is convenient for some players may not be convenient for others.Cuderon wrote:.............It would be so much funnier if you´d sell your goods on the market place. In a medieval society the population was extremely higher than what we have in Illarion. Also all the townspeople in a real medieval society would be in town during the auction. In a computer role playing game not everyone can be online at the same time. But their character should still have a chance to bid on the auction since the character is actually in town even though the player is not online. So unfortunately we have to do things a little different than the way it was actually done in those times.Cuderon wrote: Not enough buyers? Well, that is life in a medieval society.
