how of all those people who post in the rpg forum, only 7-15 are online in the game
even the few minutes a played the game, i could not meet any other person not one ... in a whole world only 15 characters ... well and when you go to the rpg forum you see loads

That simply depends on where the "action" takes part, at the actual moment.
Try the tavern, the Workshop, The Shop, Falkner's Schrein..
and, oh, if dwarves are online, they will be in Silverbrand. Usually, we others cannot get in there easily.

The world is not that big, though some corners can be dangerous.

Illarion is played 24/7, some people play while you´re sleeping, some during your breakfast and so on. But all write into the same boards, so you can see that there are quiet a lot of players who actually play the game. Not all of them are online at one moment, some of thoses online are writing posts on this board or on another board related to Illarion. Illarion has in my opinion quiet a special community, great afford is spent so everyone gets a glimpse at the ingame events of the time he/she isn´t online by the postings on the RPG-board.

Besides, there are certains "hotspots" where characters gather, i.e. Eliza´s shop, Falkner´s Shrine, The Fluffy´s or Silverbrand. So it´s possible you run through the whole island and find no one because everyone is down in Silverbrand or at Darlok´s castle.

Additionally, there are certain hours of the day during which Troll´s Bane is quiet crowded (about 20:00-22:00 CET) and at the weekends this number increases up to 30, at special events there are even more (up to 50).

Feel free to populate Illarion anytime, there more players are online the more will join.

Plus many players have more then one char, and obviously can't play them all at the same time.

Hello!

I think Gronfyn Alkidor is pretty right. People like spamming the board more than playing the game itself. I knew RPGs where the forums where much less in use and really many ppl played they game 24/7 the week.

I don't know if the Illarion-players don't have enough time or the game is too boring, but it's a bit strange.

Greetings,

No, the game is not boring, but the fact is some people actually have things called "Real Lives".

Besides, the game is in alpha. We are only testing it out for now.

Actualy I belive we can 'blame' it on the community.

Illarion seems to succed in its task to drag "older" players to it.
Unlike the younger Community of many other Games, these Players devote thier time more into shaping thier characters.

Where else is it more easier than on the boards?
(Look at the various P'nP like Boardquest.)

Also this older, more marture group of players know "when its time to play".
As Rynt said, they are not those young "Power-Kids" playing a Game 24h a day.
Some of them have fixed 'Illarion-Times', some of them have to wait until thier work allowes them to play (e.g.: Weekends).

There are various reason that some prefer to be on the boards than Ingame.

Darlok is correct, this game is more for the older players. Most are over 15, in fact. In some games, like runescape and tibia, there are like 10 year olds powergaming trying to get their skill as high as it will go for 24 hours a day. I have met people who actually have no "real world" life. They just sit there and powergame all day long. This is why Illarion doesn't have so many players online. Also, as Belegi said, there are different time zones, so people in Germany play at a different time than I do, since I live in America. Last, the forum is a way for the people in one time zone to communicate with others in other time zones. On the forum, anyone can read your message. Ingame, only those who are around you can "listen" to you. For instance, most of the people in this game i have never met ingame, but have talked with in the forums. These all contribute to why you dont see many people ingame.

That must be so boring, imagine that -no real life. I'd probably die if i powergamed for 24 hours, i'd get bored doing it for 5 mins.

There is also the fact that if somebody only has say 10 minutes of free time, they might go to the boards and browse the topics, make a few posts and then leave. !0 minutes in the game would allow you to do very little except perhaps get a convesation going then having to leave.
