Read the name rules and decide for yourself! This question is asked time and time again, and it gets pretty damn repetetive.

You don't always get straight yes and no answers for things. Read through the name rules properly and if your characters name complies with all the rules then it will be ok.

Choosing a Name does often show the ability to understand the concept of roleplaying.
If you are uncertain about a "simple thing" like a name, than you should also think about your abilities to roleplay.
Our Namerules are clear, give examples and even suggestions.
If thats not enouth, than nobody can help you.

A "Yes/No" is no answer you can expect here.

By the way, I consider (most of) my post as useful.

ok i have some ?s

Post by Norstat »

im not saying your posts arnt useful and im not trying to get on anyone's bad side...

but i do have some questions.

:?: why is an actual person handling the acception for the accounts and not a bot or auto messaging email system of some sort ..as the game continues to grow youll be swamped with acceptions and emails to look through

:?: why not just make a bot for the name rules ..or if you dont know how to do this find someone who can ...im sure someone would probibly be more than willing to help in the creation of an auto messaging system / bot programing on this forom

could someone please answer them

You will understand the reason why a bot is unable to do our tasks when you passed the "Name Check".

We already have a bot sending the first mails, but all other have to be checked and sended by a human.

Could a computer really recognize good names or stories? I don't think so.

Yes, except they don't. They work very hard and what do they get out of it? Only self-satisfaction. That is why it can sometimes appear that the GM's have a short temper. It is because they put a lot of effort into this game and then they get asked questions that people should be able to figure out themselves over and over again by different people everyday. It is quite tiring.

And the name rules are quite clear. You shouldn't have trouble recognizing a good or bad name.

hey the name rules and rules are not difficult to understand
this is like when learning a difficult subject, but at the end of the day it is YOU who has to try out what you learned
so go on, try that name if you think it is good, and then if it isn't? just try another one ... so simple life is and so easy, why do we sometimes complicate things so much?
what is the loss of trial and error? no loss... but gaining of experience 8)
