the point is not the RP reasons, the point is this quest has been milked dry, and now theres a way to end it that the players ignore.

Paul, thats exactly what illarion is, "Scripted"

In fact, paul doesent even know what PnP is, and called me a bad roleplayer because I know what I'm talking about, and he rambles on and on.....

but in any case, GM's and Admins work HARD on these quests, and take as much joy when it goes AS PLANNED.

They dont do things solely so people can ruin the hard work of others, if you want to item hunt, goto Runescape and Tibia.

this is an RP game, one that plays close to that of any pen and paper, and many live action games, its SCRIPTED and an ACT put on by the writers and managers (GM's and Admins) and played out by the Performers (The RP'ers)

Make your own quest, or game if you want to item hunt, dont ruin other peoples hard work, and thats the point here.

Well, if all the quests are "scripted" and you get punished for not following your characters way of dealing with the "scripted quest" I guess I will refuse to partake in any then.

Sean, you are way off base there.

The Gms want Illarion to live. They dont want bounderies on roleplay, none of them want to force us to roleplay a certain way in a quest. If they wanted that, they would have made it so noone could carry a seed, like chairs or tables.
They want the players to do what they would normally do. What gave any of you guys the idea that they want to dictate how we roleplay?
And Sean, if you think this quest is "milked dry" then don't play in it anymore.

Scripted? I hope it isn't scripted, a general plan, probably, but you can't actually "script" a quest. And every quest has been "milked dry" no matter what since the creation of Lyrenzia. Wouldn't it have been more interesting if people actually did something instead of waiting for a statement from them deciding what to do, basically deciding the outcome? Actually, you could say it is scripted because you either agree with them, or don't and get told to leave town, so yes maybe it has become scripted

OK, obviously sean has no clue what he is talking about. In a roleplaying game you write your character's part of a script. If you were acting out a given part you would go ACTING, not ROLEPLAYING.

Grant, talk to a GM about that, you'd be surprised just how much really is scripted, and what goes into a quest.

Really Sean? I would be surprised? I would love to see a GM state here that they don't want us to roleplay our character during the quest, but would instead prefer us to not do anything and let a select few do the quest the way the GM's tell them to.

So just to get this straight:
We have the "Good" character bitching when someone does a bad thing and gets away with it. We have "Bad" characters bitching that it is too diffucult to play a bad character. We have good Rp'ers bitching about forced rp and the lack of others rp. We have bad rp's bitching about forced rp and others rp. We have everyone bitching about the quests. We have decent players bitching about powergammers. We have powergammers bitchng about how much harder the changes are for them.

Did I forget anything or anyone? Seems to me everyone should just calm down...and maybe...just maybe...quit their bitching.

Sean have you had personal talks with the Gms who made the quests? Because I am almost certain that most of the time it is Players that think of quests and the GMs just make it techincally possible.
GMs want us to roleplay. Plain and simple. They don't want us to be constricted to a script.

As have I, and did you have to follow a script in every single one of them? I am guessing no. Unless you like to follow a script instead of roleplaying as you go along.
The point is Sean, you are wrong, GMs do not want us to follow a script and they have no elaborate plan. If they wanted the seeds to not be stolen they would have made hey impossible to pick up. They have the end planned. But that is it, all that happens in the middle is what us, the players, do.

Fooser, why do you complain about Lyrenzia all day. It is your own fault if you're such a stupid bad guy that you can only cast flames and kill people in front of witnesses.
If somebody in a dispute turns to Lyrenzia then obviously they can't or don't want to settle it themselves. If the ones involved don't want to then obviously you wouldn't have turned to the law in the first place.
Your logic is like saying OHH fighting monsters is scripted because you either have to kill them or run away. Wahh I ONLY have these choices!

*GO Arrky, GO Arky, she so good, GO Arky* Does the Chat show dance.

I dont realy see the porblem here? some players stole some seeds....if they have they get a cruse. The 'quest' of sorts finds it has a slight problem,(people take some seeds) and so with a little dynamic thinking the story is now inriched ( the gms put a curse on the stolen seeds.)

I think its great, adds to the flavour of the whole affair and to the RP. Gives me confidence in the GM's abitly to guide their quests and storys in the direction they want with out sufforcating our Rp'ing ..so...whats the problem..... your bitching!

Grant, I dont think you understand "Start to finish"

Thats planning

More planning

some amount of testing

Then ALOT of NPCing , As in RP NPCing, almost EXACTLY the same way I ran campains when I was a DM, only the fact the NPC's were REAL people like in a LARP.

Dont tell me I dont know what I'm talking about, clearly I have more knowledge then you, I've been here longer then you, I've learned more then you, and I've done a hell of a lot in this community more then you.

And if the solution runs into a slight problem then obviously the solution isn't foolproof is it? You can't just complain "OHH you ruined the solution so that's bad RP!"

Sean, I told you that you knowing RP terms but not knowing how to roleplay well is like Bill Gates owning microsoft and not knowing how to use windows, and you were like, "What does Bill Gates have to do with roleplaying?" Before you open your big mouth, use your brain. That goes for the rest of you, too, except for Arkadia.

Enouth !

Sean, Paul, Arkadia you should just stop writing and take a cold shower.

Sean, you have been banned for "the things you did for the community".
Paul, you have been boardbanned because of massive spam.
Ark, you should not get again at the level where you have been warned by me.

Neither of you is a white sheet of paper for me, so dont open your mouth.
