Which would one prefer to appeal to when writing. The majority, or the minority? God, no. Gamemaster, yes. There's a large difference between the two. Additionally, any Gamemaster who would ban a user simply because they 'don't like the player' doesn't deserve to be such. As a Dungeon Master in an IRC RPG for a total of four years, I've experience in the matter. I'm not insulting, nor breaking any rules. Nor are my intents to pester him, I made my statement upon how he seems to view me and it's done with.

I'm entitled to my opinion, though it may not be liked, just as he is entitled to his. We may have our differences, but at least I happen to respect his and not point out that I feel he is wrong and state that he is wrong factually. I expect my own opinion be treated the same.

I inject, that should I have actually made it sound like I hadn't respected his opinion to my own, I do. I was responding in a defensive manner, considering all things.

Tis Tis. I didn't read the whole thread. Yet you guys might find this surprising. I play both Illarion and Runescape. Mmmmm Hmmm... Yes. I am a fan of both. Yet I don't like one over the other. They are both great games. So don't say anything bad about either.

PS: Tibia sucks. Don't play it at all. :D

Hey i play runescape, tibia and loads more mmorpgs like The 4th Coming, Black Moon Chronicles and Diablo LOD. Dunno why everyone hates runescape and Tibia so much, just cos its not your type of game dosnt mean you have to slag it off every chance you get

It's not so much the type of game that bugs me, but the people who frequent it.

Personally I loathe being reffered to as dude n having gramatical ignorami who couldn't spell without using abbreviations if their life depended on it. Also, american slang tends to set my teeth on edge, as you may already have noticed.

Finally, I like that you can actually roleplay on Illarion (not so much these days tho...) which is truly novel.

it's like comparing Umberto Ecco to whoever it was who thought up tellytubbies...
ah well...

"you are free to do as we tell you"

not relevant i know but thought i'd just mention it.

Erm, you don't like me? Oh... I am so sad. Yet Runescape has taught me much more than any other game. Runescape is a good game. I hang on to it because it's cool. Do I look like I am using abbreviations? No... I am 13 years old. Most kids at my school are like:

Yo wassup dawg. Wctcha doin!? LOL Btch...Waz u prob? Get ur dam comp workin now...

.... Have you ever seen me do that?

And just to tell you know, if you have good friends in runescape. They will roleplay. Some people make clans where you can only roleplay. Not a whole lot of though...

nah i played runescape for the whole summer of 2002
its not bad
but the admins and programers of runescape DO suck (Jagex)
they have been saying they will put better graphics since October 2002 and they neVer did any thing better in graphics
and yea btw... runescape not bad, but the people who play used to really piss me off... they never want to help save if you pay them good money
and even to get high in skills and levels, it takes damn time ... and when i say time i mean a long time
but well runescape int nothin but a fake rpg ... the only TRUE rpg is illarion, and i aint saying this bcos i am here, i m saying this bcos i searched for a good rpg all year and finally found it :D

 Now that's funny. Just wait until you get in Illarion. You might as well just forget about skills.

Tibia is ok if you want to play a hack n slash type game, but forget about roleplaying. I get tired of people yelling constantly in Tibia.

Wow. I didn't word process my story at all. I simply wrote it up in about 20 minutes, not even proofreading it. I do believe myself a good writer, but I had no idea that this community had such high expectations.

Is the prompt always the same? If so, maybe I can rewrite my story while I wait for my rejection note. lol

Unfortunatly you can't because there is a good chance you won't get the same story. Well you could, but it might go to waste.

Sorry for bringing up this old topic, but my question does not deserve creating new one - and the thing I am to ask about is mentioned here. Generally this a question to Keikan Hiru, as :
1)He is the Gamemaster, so the answer should be something to start with.
2)He mentioned the thing - the length of story.
Of course, any other replies are most welcome.

I tried to join Illarion on last winter, February or March it was, I think... I had some hardware problems, blocked ports to be precise, posted some questions on Technical Problems Board, got some answers, could do nothing about it. Now I changed provider, got the cables replaced, threw away the ethernet card, etc - and hope for a chance to start Illarion ( at least try again :) ), as the link should be working from tommorrow on. For this half of a year I did not forget Illarion, but did not play any other mmorpgs - just plain old true RPGs. And all I could do about Illarion was writing story... it just expanded and expanded, on every dull and gray evening... Now I am concerned about its length...
So, the question is ( sorry for long introduction):
I am aware of what term 'too short' used here means, but is there a possibility of getting 'too long' as a reason of rejecting? 'From week to two weeks or to a month' seems to much for me, as it is understood as 'for every approach'.
What length is considered as 'too long'?

To Riordain:

Have I understood you right? You have get the email with the question and the story to complete last February / March.
And since then, you have written on this story to complete side after side?
Than I would suggest, send them in. If it is too long, the GMs would also see from the first side, if you complete the story in the right way.

No, that's not like this. I had major hardware problems and could do nothing about it. I did not reach the stage of sending anything or getting anything :) My client could not get the connection to the server due to blocked ports - thats the first thing it tries to do, so I could not prepare the character, etc... I just prepared the story on the side, preparing myself for the day, when all problems will be gone, and it seems the Day is close :)

'Too long' is never a rejection reason, dont worry about it.

Do I understand you right? You wrote a story although you never got a mail asking you to do?
Well, then I fear you spent the work for nothing (well, not for nothing, but not for the GMs), as the story you have to send in is not a completely original one, but the completion of a prewritten story that will be sent to you.

I think he got the questions a while ago, but then couldn't respond to the story till now. So I don't see why there would be a problem.

Unfortunately, Adano Eles understood me perfectly. Unfortunately for me of course... I could not check anything in practice, just did it theoretically... I thought the story was to be character's biography.

Fortunately I did the story for myself, also used the parts of story in some of the quests... Anyway, I am not worried - and another of the great mysteries of this world is revealed
So, as for me, End Of Topic...
