if your speaking of the fact you get everything by "gifts", that will change. Meanwhile you will discover uses of gold coins as soon as you wish to BUY something that is needed in large amounts or on days when you cant get them for FREE.

what i mean is that you can make everything yourself you dont need to buy anything from the shops unless its silver ingots, do you get what im trying to say.

This also applies to real life. You can make everything yourself in real life so why do you need to buy anything from shops? Because you don't have the time or interest to learn how to make everything or maybe the quality isn't as good right? The same applies in Illarion. You are supposed to be living a life in a medieval fantasy world and not have the time and skill to learn how to make every piece of thing of the world. So you use your money to buy other things that you need and can't make. Even though you can technically learn how to make everything if you play long enough and practice every skill, you're not supposed to do that. Why? Because of something called roleplaying. If you don't know what roleplaying means, then maybe you're in the wrong game good sir.

Well, just what the heck is money for anyway?

Okay, so, you want to be a warrior?  You'll need plate mail, knight helm, fire sword, etc...  Unless someone gave you all those things, you'll find it'll take some time to be able to make them.  Okay, so eventually you get good enough in blacksmithing to make them.  Okay, you're hunting, and you're getting hurt a lot.  So you're gonna need heal potions.  Ooops, no druid skills.  Are you going to now take up druid skills to be able to make potions?  That's more time... Or you can just buy them.  And go hunt.

Or you're a druid, you need armor.

Or you're a mage and need potions.

Being a Druid Warrior it seems that you, potentionally, make everything you need however.  Hmm.. a mage can't make healing potions.  Perhaps a little balancing needed there? Who buys what from mages?  Maybe we need magical enhancment spells or soemthing?

A mage can heal himself using his spells. The magic is used to damage, heal, or summon food. Survival, there is not much, and shouldnt be anything to "get rich" off of. We have all ready told you. You can get jobs, or choose your own proffession, and Magecraft isnt it!
do realize druids only can attack with potions one way, poisoning..... that is it... i think the rest the do deserve, though of course the system can be altered to make it more fair. Meanwhile the only think we can do to see what is going to happen is wait for the next client.

Why is it so easy to get money?  Atleast, that's what I read from his question...maybe you don't see it that way, but maybe you should stop to think about it too.

i remember when i first started to mine, i make about a few items that sold for 2 golds each.

Money isnt easy, but once the items are disregarded as valuable since they get too easy to make, no one wish to buy them since they are too common.

Trust me, it isnt easy, though you might concider yourself rich.... but once the item is too common, you struck a big problem. errr, im just saying the value system need to be ... rewritten or something....

Do you go to a toy store expecting to play bungee jumping there? Do you go play ice hockey in a basketball court where people are playing basketball and expect it to be fun?

If you want to have fun playing ice hockey then go to an ice hockey rink. Don't expect playing ice hockey will be much fun where people are playing basketball. If you don't want to play basketball, then don't come to the basketball court.

RP games, not to be confused with RPG games, are role playing, and that's where the emphasis is placed.  Not on getting an uber character or all the best items or... whatever.

RP games started way back with war games, and then D&D came along (Dungeons and Dragons).  D&D was a pencil, paper and dice game, no computers.  To play you had to immerce yourself in your character.  The DM (Dungeon Master) would tell you where you were, what you see, and so on, and you would tell the DM what you were doing.  If you were going to town to buy supllies, asking NPCs (Non Player Characters) questions, etc...

And fights just about took forever.  Every swing you would roll a 20 sided dice.  And then you would facter in your + to hit, and factor out the enemies AC (Armour Class) to determine what it was you needed to hit.  If you rolled high enough, you would hit it, if not you missed.  Then you would roll for damage, a dagger doing a D4 (4 sided dice), a shortsword a D6, and so on.

Well, now we have an RP game in Illarion, where the tedium of the dice are taken away, but make no mistake, we still have a DM (Bror and the GMs) and we still are expected to role play our characters in a midevil time.

When *we* are RPing it can be quite distracting when someone comes along talking about the fact they like Metallica or something.  If it doesnt' fit into the midevil period, it shouldnt' be said.  If your character wouldn't do it, you shouldnt' do it.  Even if the game mechanics allow you to.

RPing isn't for everyone.  Some people like it, some people don't.  If you don't like to RP, then there are a lot more games you can go to and not have to, go to www.helbreath.com and play that, that's an RPG where you dont' have to RP (although you should).

I wont make any mistakes. and i do take the game as an  RPer, no swearing, all the rules, never broken any of them, and i can Rp if i wanted to, the way it is in these games is dont speak unless your spoken to, but hey a simple question got anwserd, thats all i wanted. Thank you.
And Bror what makes you think ill make a mistake? ive done nothing wrong so far
