Powergaming is against the rules, casting at nothing with no reason is powergaming. Now I can see if you are just experimenting, but exessivly doing it, the only reason you would do this is to gain skill. So, please don't. You know who you are.

So basically in order to get good magic... We powergame on monsters a lot?

Mostly fighters are at the monsters and can kill them faster than a mage, and most mages can't block high level monsters that are usually lonely.
